My wife stayed in the main house for a Saturday night after a wedding. The grounds are beautiful but the house could use some work. The carpet on the stairs were worn, no blinds or heavy drapes to block out the outside lights, shower stall dirty, lights in bathroom not working properly we never received bathroom towels. Be careful at...

I had bought a Living Social deal (2 nights for the price of 1) about 3 years ago to The Woodlawn Historic B&B. For logistical reasons, my partner and I were not able to coordinate a date to go until just this week. Mr. Grube was extremely patient with us over the years and we were finally able to get...

I take the time to write reviews, because I read them and use them to decide where to spend my travel time and dollars. It is for that reason, I am writing this review. I wish I could say nice things about this property, but I can’t. I love historical B&Bs and I have stayed in them all over the...

A group of 5-7 couples gets together each year to celebrate New Years Eve. We have been doing this for at least 15 years. This year we decided to go to Woodlawn Farm in Ridge MD. Woodlawn is an historic house on the Potomac River. There are views of the river everywhere and wonderful sunrises and sunsets. Woodlawn was built...

Close to Point Lookout State Park on the Bay. House is very old but well-maintained. Complimentary wine tasting most days. Copious and delicious breakfast included while enjoying water view at picture window. Friendly owners & staff. Got a great deal, and was told we could get same price next time! Book far ahead - it is very popular!

Jim - Thinking of Woodlawn all the time. My grandmother (Marion Conrad) will be 100 years old on March 30th. She is still strong and tells us stories after stories. She is always talking about the awesome time she spent at Woodlawn reminiscing of all the by-gone days of when her mother and all her siblings were born at Woodlawn...

We selected this B&B as the venue for my parents 40th anniversary celebration. We were not disappointed! From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home and can't say enough wonderful things about our hosts, Jim and Maggie. The views are breathtaking! I made one of my photos the desktop background on my computer at work and my-coworkers ask...

My wife and I truly enjoyed this scenic getaway! Upon arrival, Jim, an outgoing owner and host, told me both his father and son were named Harold. Later that evening, after following Jim's recommendation for some pizza, we found ourselves instead in the midst of a local annual chili cook-off contest. We went with the flow and had unlimited chili...

We tried this B&B after finding them on Grouping. The location was gorgeous, I would like to experience it in the Spring. We arrived late at night and the owner, Jim, left a note and key for us. We appreciated the effort. The cottage was nice but could've been a bit cleaner. We loved the bed and linens...very cozy. Breakfast...

I was lucky enough to discover Woodlawn a few years ago when I was visiting wineries in Southern Maryland. The B&B also serves as Slack Winery, which is a bonus for any wine lover. I returned for the delicious wine 2 times after the initial visit, but always wanted to stay and enjoy the grounds which back right up to...

“There are only two rooms in the main house. The Calvert Suite has the river view. Would recommend. This is an old house but has everything you could want. There are four other buildings a short walk from the house with kitchens and sitting rooms. Some of our group were out there. All have wonderful river views as the river bends right there. No TV .”
