Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stunning views from the hot tub, the deck and each window. A peaceful location for a perfect holiday. Everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. It made a great base for us to see so much of the NC500 whilst we were there. Les was very helpful and ensured our stay was perfect. We even had a visit from the Easter Bunny!

I really don’t know where to start. We wanted a special place for a special birthday and boy did Castlecraig Clifftop Cabins deliver. The cabins are just beautiful, very spacious, warm and cosy with everything you could possibly need. With large windows and doors, the views from all the rooms and especially the decking area and hot tub are simply amazing, it’s hard to take your eyes away. We were lucky enough to have fantastic clear skies for almost all of our weeks stay and we were therefore able to benefit from some stunning sunrises and a full moon that reflected so brightly on the sea below and over the cabins was incredible. The welcoming pack is also special with all the items locally sourced and very tasty, a lovely touch. Les is a wonderful host and clearly really cares about her guests, ensuring everything is just perfect for them. We absolutely loved out stay at Castlecraig and certainly intend to return. Thank you Les for making a very special and memorable birthday. Special birthday, special place and special memories – thank you so very much.

The location is perfect for a relaxing break away. The accommodation is to a very high standard, immaculate and very well equipped. The log burner is perfect after a long walk, especially in winter and the hot tub cannot be faulted. Watching sunrises, sunsets and the ever changing sea and sky from the hot tub has been a highlight for us. Thanks again Les for a wonderful break at Castlecraig.

Had a lovely week in the lovely Shandwick cabin in Oct 2023 the views are amazing cabin is clean and comfortable, Les is amazing from the booking process to leaving Les was always on hand even during storm Babet we was travelling from Manchester when Babet started to hit Les was sending updates on A9 etc to ensure a smooth journey up and even when Babet was at her worst Les still came out to make sure we was ok and felt safe! I would definitely recommend getting up early to watch the sunrise truly breath taking! We will 100% be back and recommend to everyone!

The cabin was beautiful and the views beyond amazing we managed to see poirpoises frolicking in sea below. It was so peaceful just sitting on the sofa or in the hot tub watching the liners and boats come and go we will definitely be returning.

Fantastic view to wake up to in the mornings . So lucky to see the dolphins feeding one evening and the jets flying back to base. The pods are brilliant and spaced out from each other. Very clean and everything you need in the kitchen.

Had a lovely week away in a beautifully peaceful setting.. Cabin was well laid out and perfectly spacious for our family of 4 and large dog. Hot tub on deck was fab and several dolphin sightings made it even more special. So many lovely walks and places to eat close by. Highly recommend a trip over to Cromarty on the ferry too.

Beautiful setting with far reaching views. The cabin was both high quality and a perfect size for a couple’s weekend away. Design has obviously been carefully thought through with everything you need without being cluttered. Only slight regret is the weather was so unseasonably hot that we didn’t get to try the log burner.
