We had a wonderful weekend at the Federal House Inn. We like that Lee is a real town but right next to the very genteel Berkshire towns. We took a great hike just beyond Lee and stopped at the Outlet Stores to great success on our way back. The Inn, well, you’ve heard about the breakfasts? Cannot emphasize how delicious, sumptuous, generous and creative the breakfasts were, all three courses. We never needed lunch. The place is beautifully appointed. Welcoming sitting room and afternoon tea/happy hour brought everyone together. We started out in a nice but unrenovated room but due to some mechanical difficulties (that room has since been renovated) we were moved to the big front room and it was perfect in every detail. Great four poster bed, excellent mattress, beautiful lighting and a bottle of wine left for us. The family is warm and giving, the kids studying in the kitchen but quick to help out. It was a great stay! Highly recommend!

This is by far the best Inn I have experienced on the East coast. The Federal House Inn is beautiful and the family is friendly and helpful. On top of all of this, then there is our breakfast. I can not even begin to put in words how phenomenal the gourmet level of food and presentation was. This was a wonderful experience all around.

A terrific stay - every attention is paid to all the details. Luxury linens, fireplaces,, 3-course breakfast. Quiet, yet central to everything you might want to see in the Berkshires, in historic Lee. We will return!

We so enjoyed our stay at The Federal House Inn. The House is gorgeous with beautiful and uniquely decorated bedrooms, and living and dining areas. The hosts are wonderful: warm & friendly, happy to help make your stay memorable any way they can. The next day breakfast is phenomenal- absolutely gourmet level food and presentation. When you leave you will feel happy you had a chance to experience this special Inn. We did, and totally recommend The Federal House in to anyone looking to explore the Berkshires.

We had a tough time and arrived 5 hours off schedule when our GPS through us for a loop. Gayle and Michael could not have been more kind and accommodating. The room was SO COZY and the bed was the most comfortable I'd ever slept in - both my friend and I woke up and said, "Wow, I haven't sleep that good in years!". When we woke up, we could smell the delicious breakfast throughout the whole house. We were encouraged to wear the comfy inn robes to breakfast and we sure did! 3 course breakfast - each one was out this world and presentation was so simple, yet beautiful. The whole house is decorated for Christmas and it gives a vintage, traditional vibe.Between the decorations and the Christmas music played during breakfast --you leave really feeling the holiday magic. The inn was only a 3 minute drive to Main Street Stockbridge where we were celebrating Christmas on Main Street. This place is a gem and the owners are really great people. I would give it 20 stars if I could!

We recently stayed at the Federal House Inn and had a wonderful visit. There is one dog-friendly room available at the inn (Michael's Room), and it was extremely comfortable and accommodating. The location is beautiful and convenient, and the staff remarkable. Gayle and the entire team were so friendly and very sweet to our dog. During our stay, we enjoyed a social hour with other guests and an exceptional homemade three-course breakfast. The egg dish that was served is now a new favorite. Thank you, Federal House Inn!

We just had a wonderful one night's stay at the Federal House Inn. The place was beautifully appointed and beyond clean. The inn keepers were genuinely friendly and made sure all guests were comfortable and happy. We stayed in room #5, Catherine's room, and it was spacious and quiet. The breakfast was beyond our expectations and extremely filling. Don't hesitate and book!

Sadly we only had one night at this beautiful Inn before heading to New York to embark on a cruise. We were greeted with the warmest of welcomes from Michael and his wife Gayle. The Inn is beautifully restored with exquisite taste and attention to detail. The crowning glory is the gourmet breakfast. A gastronomic delight to start your day. All beautifully baked and cooked by Gayle and served by Michael who never let our coffee mugs empty! So lovely to stay in a traditional Inn and not in one of the many ‘chains’ of hotels. The difference is amazing. Sally and Richard. From North Yorkshire, England

Richard and Sally: Thank you for your review and kind words. It was a pleasure to meet you both and a sadness that you had to leave so soon. We hope that when you return to The Berkshires you will consider us your home away from home and a base for further exploration of all that New England has to offer.
