Upon arrival we was greeted at reception by a women who was pretty friendly. She took our details and requested a £50 deposit for any damage to the room. After being given our key we made our way to our room the corridor on the way there smelt of damp the light we’re all flickering not a good first impression. Arriving at our room we go in to find that the TV is totally smashed. She mirror is hanging off the wall and was not good at all we then went back to reception and told the woman who went and checked and then moved us to the room next door not sure if it was better or worse coffee splashed all up ceiling. Wet tissue thrown on the ceiling in the bathroom the shower door had fallen off and was not safe at all and to top it all off the sink had no hot water. Would not recommend staying here to anyone.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! I stayed at the OYO Dayz Away Lodge just for one night as I was visiting family in the area and this place was the closest to the party. As soon as I walked into the entrance of the hotel I instantly thought “oh my god… what have I done” but seeing as it was only one night I thought I could grin and bare it. I was greeted by an eastern European guy who was manning reception, he gave me my key and told me to my amazement how busy the hotel was (that was the first lie). As I walked down to my room the smell of cigarettes and weed hit me, then as I turned the corner to my room I found a empty drug wrapper on the floor. Anyway I didn’t let any of this phase me as I just wanted to get some sleep… my room wasn’t too bad, very dated but had new carpet, most of the handles were falling off all the furniture, bathroom was clean but had a mild damp smell. Anyway I got my head own and had a relatively good night’s sleep but woke up to an empty wallet (which I knew I had £120 In when I got to my room) and a very expensive watch stolen which was my fathers, who has recently passed away. Before I got into bed I had left these items on the bedside table which was literally inches away from my head so the thief clearly had the audacity and experience in doing this before! I cannot tell you how utterly speechless I was when I woke up to find I had been robbed in my sleep!! After throwing a pair of jeans on I headed to reception and as I walked along the various corridors I found the new member of staff who was working the day shift going through other rooms… I actually walked passed him as I thought he was maybe one of the other guests as he looked so scruffy and border line homeless. I told the member of staff what had happened and he did his best “shocked face” possible, saying that this stuff never happens but I could clearly see this was not the case! He called his manager and just said sorry that all I can do! Utterly disgraceful!!! No one from the hotel has called me back or contacted me!! I instantly called and reported this to the police but as always they never do anything unless you can hand it to them on a plate…. I just cannot believe these After reporting this to reception I walked back to my room to collect my luggage and noticed that several doors to the rooms do not shut or close properly!! And on closer inspection it looks as if the doors have been doctored not to close (see pictures). From just the short walk back to my room I found 5 doors which didn’t close unless banged shut. I also walked around all of the corridors and nowhere could I find any security cameras – ZERO CCTV!!! How convenient. Since having this happen to me I have been reading other people’s reviews on various websites and this kind of incident has happened serval times recently, with people having thousands of pounds stolen and personal items. I’ve found 10 examples in the last few months of people entering guests rooms while they were in there!! How can this hotel even still be in business?? Or be legal…. If you want to pay to get robbed then this is the hotel for you!! I tried calling the UK customer services line for OYO and not one person I spoke to could speak good English, then when I finally got them to give me the number of someone to escalate this matter to after mentioning the police were involved they gave me a number to the head office in India +44 02308870032 - (literally no UK office – how is that even possible???) I booked this through booking.com and they should be absolutely disgraced they are affiliated with a crime ring!

Room had strange dirty smell , was freezing cold , like an ice box , went to reception and complained, was told all radiators in room & bathroom working fine & they were on time, so went back to room, sat with coat on. Waited , still freezing, checked radiators, bathroom radiator Wasn't even connected, pipes were cut , shower food hanging off, half used shower gel sachet in shower & filthy , obviously hadn't been cleaned. Half a toilet rollSink dirty & blocked. 1 towel in room between 2 of us, smelled like hadn't be changed. Luckily took our own . Was told no other rooms available. I had an appointment so very quick shower (after I had cleaned before I used it ) then went out . Came back later to a gang of teenagers hanging around top of stairs reception ( obviously friends of very young lad on reception night shift. Got in room like an ice box . Got in bed fully clothed freezing cold & damp linen .My wife was totally upset with the stay , It ruined our weekend. If I hadn't already paid on arrival I would have refused to pay. In all the years I've travelled to NEVER stayed in a worse place than this .Room in desperate need of revamp & decent cleaning staff . Totally disgusting. Ought to be closed down !! The owners should be embarrassed to advertise place !!

I have recently had the misfortune of staying in this so called 'Hotel' and have to say AVOID THIS LIKE THE PLAGUE!. The area of Kingswinford and Wall Heath is a lovely place so expected this hotel to reflect this as its also adjacent to a very well know Restaurant in Hickorys. Upon arrival it is not very well lit, steps upto the reception are like ice and the Receptionist had her headphones in watching her phone and could barely bring herself to speak to me, seemed very awkward, unfriendly and just all round not interested to the point it felt like an inconvenience me turning up. I was then given a key to my room which was attached to the biggest block of wood which I know can see could of been used as a weapon based on what I saw, witnessed and smelt in the hotel. I got a key to room 26 (all rooms had a none smoking sticker on the doors) which as soon as I turned the corner onto the corridor was hit the the smell of stale smoke. I then walked into room 26 which stunk to high heaven of an ashtray which instantly made me feel sick. I went straight to the window to open it to get some fresh air which was just as bad as the room overlooked what I can only describe as waste land and bins. I had been in the room for all of 4 mins then went back to inconvenience the Receptionist again asking for another room as I was not staying in room 26. With a huff and a deadly look at me she then gave me the key to room 49 in which I went upstairs too and this seemed ever so slightly better but as I looked around to familiarise myself with what was on offer started to see that the cleanliness 'lack of' was nothing short of discussing and just down right dirty and filthy. There were cobwebs all over the rooms (all of them), stains on the walls, stains on the carpets, bad smells all throughout the hotel and the rooms, bathrooms were the filthiest Ive EVER seen in my life (as the pictures will reveal). My Girlfriend went into the shower that barely gad any pressure at all and could not get hot, then I heard a scream in which I ran into the bathroom to find that the glass from the shower door had come out of the door frame and hit my Girlfriend in the head. As my Girlfriend was half way through washing her hair I had to stand and hold the glass whilst she got the shampoo out of her hair and had to step over the fallen glass pain. Once again I found myself at Reception with the grimm faced reaper demanding we move to a room where we could just through our last night at this awful hotel which surprise, surprise seemed to inconvenience her yet again. She said she would let us know what she could do then about 10 minutes later a knock at the door to throw room 44 keys at me and said "give me the key for here and I want to see the shower" as if it was a lie which once again tested my resolve. We then proceeded into our final room which was room 44 (at the top of the stairs) which I was told was a brand new room with new carpet, paint etc..........this was not true at all. Whilst it was much better than room 26 and 49 still had stains everywhere, stunk of smoke, the room was like a furnace which we couldn't control in the room as was told it was on a timer. This was so hot it became uncomfortable and we found ourselves trying to think of things to do to get out of the hotel so we only had to sleep there and nothing else. The hotel ask for £10 deposit for the TV Remotes and that alone made me wonder what have we come to. There were holes in walls, stains on beds, carpets, walls, cob-webs in all 3 rooms, mirrors in bathrooms were insecurely wedged behind the taps with bit of glass missing from them, tiles in the bathroom missing and cracked, sink and shower not clean and just utterly disgusting, bad smell everywhere, dark, dingy, glass light fitting dirty, cheap beds and furniture, handles missing off wardrobes, rooms like a furnace so germs would definitely spread in these rooms, people outside the reception smoking weed, rude and unfriendly staff. The list goes on....... (The pictures will back this up also) Needless to say we did not want to pay a penny for this stay and despite the stay only costing £70 for both nights didn't even feel this cheap price didn't even deserve our £70. I would highly recommend that anybody looking to stay here avoid this at all costs and do not be fooled by the cheap price tag. Im a firm believer that you get what you pay for and you only get quality at a premium but the very least Id expect would be cleanliness and just an investment in decent cleaning products, spray of air freshener, lick of paint and new carpet but this all seems too much for Heath Brook Lodge. I asked the ever friendly receptionist to speak to a Manager or Owners and she replied with a laugh and said "your joking aren't ya, they are never here. Were lucky if we can get them on the phone as staff let alone guests". I then asked if there was a number or email I could take to contact someone which she said a very simple and stern "No". All in all nothing but dreadful and Id NEVER stay here again under any circumstance!!!!!!. It was that bad Ive take this further to Trading Standards, Healthy & Safety and determined to get our money back.

Hotel is just disgusting, for your own health do not stay there. Cobwebs hanging from ceiling, paint peeling from the walls, bedrooms are filthy, windows didn't shut properly, holes in doors, black mold in the bathroom, not just the bath, but on the tiles & shower screen - its a health hazard and should be shut down - I would not give this hotel a 1 star rating but you can't leave review without it.

I had the experience of staying in this hotel and the staff were pleasant. After that it was all down hill . I was greeted in the hallway by the smell of what could be described as a mix of frabreze air fresheners and weed, the outdated and rundown decor was appalling . The room could only be described as verging on a bio hazard. Spiders and Webb’s around the room and thick dust on all table tops . Stains on the carpet and hair around the bed and bath. The room clearly has not been cleaned for months or longer , blood on some walls ( picking from someone’s nose) just left . No running hot water . The bath was gray and green with grime. A mix of what looked like rust and sand was spitting out of the taps ( see photo ) and the water was clearly contaminated. Tv not working , noise in the hallways at all hours and flys pounding the windows. The smell of the rooms were vile. Please do not bring children to this hotel or yourself for that matter . If it was free it would be too much . Needs to be completely refurbished or torn down .£12 more a premier inn up the road !

This place is truly awful and should be avoided ....customer service is also something that is not practiced here and if you ask the receptionist for something as simple as a towel (which was needed as one had been left for 2 people) she huffs before eventually bringing one around to the room ...among other things we found to be missing from the room ...the rooms are also in disrepair and are in a shocking state ...housekeeping could help with some of our issues like the dirty bath and used toiletries left on the shower from previous people...to many other problems and issues to name as we are taking this further !!!!
