Our stay at Church Farm Country Cottages was absolutely wonderful. We booked all of the cottages so that our family could spend the weekend together following our wedding in August. Steve and Trish could not have been any more helpful when we were planning our trip. They made special provision for a member of our group with special needs, responded quickly when I requested information about the facilities, and went above and beyond to make our trip special. The cottages themselves were clean and inviting and were exactly as described/pictured on the website. We really enjoyed the welcome afternoon tea and it is a lovely touch having fresh milk on arrival. The indoor pool was also brilliant and everyone loved using it. In addition to the patio furniture, there was also a large marquee available for us to use, and the fields/farmland around the cottages was beautiful. We made use of several restaurant recommendations during our stay. The Seven Stars pub, Avon Spice and Hartleys Farm Shop Garden Kitchen all surpassed expectations. Everyone had a fantastic weekend and we would definitely stay there again.

Plus points - decent size pool and good temperature for kids. Owners suggested different time slots for us so we got to use the pool. Cottage had nice patio area, if a little public (pool, patio and the sunshine were the saving graces...). Clean bedding. Nice area- a few walks from the door. On the other hand...Cottage very small (no space for four to eat at the table), quite worn out looking, floors peeling up etc, and not properly kitted out (booked for four, but only three plates, three spoons, two wine glasses, odd selection of cutlery, no rubbish bin). Really glad it was sunny for most of our stay- wouldn’t have wanted to spend much time inside. Cottages also on a busy road, which you can hear from inside. Which then means you can’t really hear the sheep (also no views from the cottage we were in, which I guess explains why so few pics on the website.) Very small double bed and sheets all poly cotton, not cotton. Also cottage not very clean on arrival- bit worrying in these times- despite lengthy email advice from owners beforehand explaining all Covid cleaning precautions they would be taking. The floor and table were sticky, and there was food in the grill tray from previous guests- we had to clean them ourselves. I emailed the owners while there to let them know all this, and while pleasant enough, and they brought some spare plates, nobody acknowledged the dirty floor etc. Also when I mentioned we didn’t have a bin, the owner just said she was sorry- but no offer to remedy this/ get us a replacement...? Neighbours had no loo roll in their cottage - we lent them some. Their replacement supply took a day to arrive (?!) Simple stuff to fix, so a bit baffled why not addressed..? For the price, would really have expected a bit higher quality (and perhaps a bin and an acknowledgment of us having to clean the floor ourselves!)

We just left church farm cottages today and we are very sad! We enjoyed our stay there so much! Facilities are brilliant, surroundings are amazing and the family who run the holiday cottages are lovely! It's child safe and family welcoming. Bath and bradford on avon are very close but you can equally enjoy the countryside and woods should you not want to leave the cottage. The heated indoor swimming pool was also spot on! They also run activities for children a d parents alike on site.

Delightful cottage apartment with everything we could possibly need. Clean and comfortable with outdoor seating in a sheltered garden as well dining area inside. The pool and other activities were not available due to COVID 19, so I have clicked 'no' in the checklist below. The countryside nearby is delightful, including the canal towpath to Bath.

Easy to find, Clean, cosy, comfortable. Everything we could need for a week of self catering. Easy to access Bath and Bradford on Avon. Lovely walking from cottage. Local pub and shop in walking distance. Lovely warm pool and a good size. I really enjoyed my week here, a real home away from home. I know it's a cliche but I was very comfortable and happy. I always like to pick up on any negatives even minor ones as they can make the difference for choosing places to stay but I have no criticisms of this lovely little let.
