We both ate dinner and stayed over night at Publick House. We are fans of the historic and this place did not disappoint! One feels very much like they could have arrived by horseback a century (or two!) ago and had a similar experience. I say this in the best of possible ways, btw. Our room was in the main...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

My mom and I were traveling to Maine and Sturbridge is halfway to our destination. We typically stop in Sturbrudge, but never stayed overnight. When I made my reservation for the Publick House and locked in a price of $69, I honestly had rather low expectations. Boy, was I WRONG. Our room was fabulous...large, beautifully and tastefully decorated and breakfast...

I was upgraded from an outlying room to a room in the Inn. It was comfortable, clean, and handy to the bar, restaurant, and bake shop..... oh man, get one of those apple turnovers! I ate at the bar both nights I stayed, great burger and good appetizers. Didn't get to taste the coffee, I'm up and out before they...

The Publick House is an historic inn, located in a historic town with a major attraction, the Old Sturbridge Village restoration (which it is not affiliated with). It's a natural place to stay when visiting the restoration. While the inn is old and historic, it has most modern conveniences, including private baths and air conditioning. There are 40 rooms in...

We enjoyed our entire experience. Loved the rolls at the beginning of the meal, great appetizers followed by a kicking entree. Was sad I was to full for dessert. Service was excellent and drinks are reasonable.

We have been coming to this place for around 35 years. This was our fifth or sixth time. There is a reason we keep coming back. It's a really nice place. It's very relaxing, cozy, and historic. We stayed in the main building which I recommend. Aside from visiting Old Sturbridge Village and doing some Antiquing there isn't much else...

I stayed in a double room in one of the Lodge buildings. It was spacious with lots of drawer space, nice bathroom and comfortable beds. WIFI worked great. The grounds of this hotel/Inn are beautiful and make for a nice walking space. A few chairs to sit in, table and chairs to have a snack and go on the computer...

second time coming to the publick house for dinner with friends. the meal was exceptional. Our waiter Micah was kind and attentive to the extras we wanted. I had the turkey dinner on Micah's suggestion. The desert I got was the raspberry tart with vanilla ice cream on top drizzled with raspberry sauce. OUT OF THIS WORLD ! recommend this...

This is a place we go to often to celebrate, or just to relax and have a great, consistent meal of non fru-fru food. Yes, we scrummed and had the turkey dinner. Because it's good and you never have to worry about getting a bad meal. You get a bread basket with some of the best sticky buns you will...

What a wonderfully charming setting for a very old establishment! We were seated in padded, wing back chairs that added to the ambiance. While waiting for our food they brought sticky buns and corn bread and banana bread. Once we chowed down on that we really weren't ready to start our lunches............but forge on we did!! My husband had a...
