My friend and I stayed at the 1888 for 3 nights in July 2016 while we were touring Boston. The Inn was beautiful and full of antiques and oriental carpets. Miss Sally was delightful and a very good hostess. It was easy to get into town from Waltham.

I stayed her recently with my teenage daughters who felt like they had stumbled into a most amazingly warm and welcoming world, greeted by Sally who made them feel instantly comfortable and at home. The room was bright, clean and comfortable. Its location is on a main thoroughfare, is close to many eating and other facilities. The shared bathroom is up-to-date plumbing-wise, but if you don't care for cheap, single-ply TP, bring your own. Sallie provides clean towels and washcloths daily and makes up the bed, too. I had to come to town for a funeral and couldn't find a room near Waltham. My brother mentioned The 1888 Guest House, so I booked the room. The owner, Sallie, is the sweetest, kindest lady who loves what she does. My room was so comfortable. She was waiting for me in the morning with a hug and a smile....

My husband and I stayed one night. We had an early morning medical appointment which we were concerned about getting to due to impending snowstorm. Salley was the most welcoming person-- she even got up at 6 am to send us off with a hug. Amazing! Quiet, comfortable and full of antiques!

I stayed two nights close to my daughters university. Sally the innkeeper is lovely and checks you in and then leaves you alone which is a welcome break from others that want to be your tour guide and new best friend. The inn was quite with one other room occupied (and placed right above me!?). Bathroom was down the hall...

The 1888 Guest Home is a comfortable, clean, friendly, quiet, nice place to stay. The rooms are well appointed and it is nice to walk around the property or sit on the porch for a while. It doesn't really matter if you go on Business or Pleasure. The location is 2 minutes from Route 128 and the businesses nearby, and also for Parents wanting to see their children graduate from Bentley University (5 min drive), Brandeis (10 mins) and perhaps also Babson, though that's a bit further out.
