Stayed here for one night with a friend for a walking break, it's a great place to stay and eat and service is really good. We ate in the adjoining pub where the food was excellent and well worth a try. The hotel breakfast was excellent and the rooms were really well maintained. Would definately stay here again

A lovely hotel. Comfortable room. Enjoyed relaxing in the comfortable lounge areas. Attentive staff and excellent food in both hotel restaurant and attached CAMRA listed pub. Set in a stunning area of natural beauty. Look forward to returning soon.

Been going here twice a year, sometimes more, for over 40 years. There have been many changes over the years but The Scafell never fails to impress with it's friendly atmosphere, the quality of it's food and general comfort ...and most of all it's position in the heart of Borrowdale. You can't beat it.

Stayed here in a Travelzoo deal £169 for 2 nights, with 1 x dinner and 2 x breakfast. Cannot fault the hotel, lovely room (we stayed in the annexe, overlooking the river). The food while fine dining, was exceptional, and very tasty. Breakfast was hearty and very nice as well. This hotel is ideal for lovely country walks, the Derwent...

We took advantage of a Travel Zoo special offer for a 2 night stay with an evening meal in the hotel restaurant on the first night. The hotel itself is great, the rooms are newly refurbished, modern and clean. As per many lakeland hotels it's dog friendly in most areas apart from the main restaurant. The location is fantastic for...

We had a marvellous time, staff were so attentive, surroundings so comfortable and our dog made most welcome. We had dinner in the hotel which was to a very high standard...

Just been. Booked it late, as I decided to visit some colleagues who were climbing. Room was a decent size, overlooking the little river, had everything I needed. bathroom was nicely decorated. Staff who I spoke to were all friendly and polite, the decor and grounds were nice. Ate in the riverside bar area, seems like it's been done out,...
