Set on three levels, the park covers some 13 acres with 60 spacious all weather semi-hard standing pitches for your caravan, tent, trailer tent or motorcaravan. We have a further 5 premier pitches with full services on a section of the park called Heydon’s meadow, which is a Caravan Club Certificated location; there are also several hardstanding drive-on pitches suitable for motorhomes. The park, which has a tranquil rural atmosphere, is mostly sheltered, divided into woody pockets and open areas. It features a delightful wildlife pond, landscaped garden areas and natural wildflower bankings. We are one of only 2 Best of British Parks in Norfolk, Visit England 5* and Top 100 2016 status. Just returned home having stayed 5 nights..We received a warm welcome on arrival and we're given site map and directions to pitch This site is located in an idyllic, quiet setting. We stopped on a super pitch and it didn't disappoint. Within the pitch price was included electricity hookup and water on tap as well as a waste water drain. All pitches were manicured and as level as could be. The site facilities were first class. Site shop for basics. Showers and toilet's immaculate! !!! And having just read other review by someone who stayed the same week find it hard to believe that there camping area wouldnt be up to the same clean standard ! .Barney's restaurant on site offers eat in dining and take out and does a mean pint of San Miguel . This is a very doggy friendly site having a nice dog walk trail around the site and barney's restaurant also welcomes pooches. They also care about nature on the site attracting all kinds of birds and wildlife. Ever been watched by a squirrel whilst eating your tea. The site is well placed to visit places such as holt.Cromer and Sheringham. Fakenham. There's probably not enough word space on here for me to describe how lovely this site is and what a beautiful part of the country Norfolk is .

This is a lovely caravan park: the pitches are generous, the location is very pretty and the facilities are first class. We particularly liked the clever way the owners sorted out social distancing in the loo blocks. There are hooks outside each loo and you are asked to hang something on one before going in. When all the hooks are full, you wait outside safely. We never had to wait for long and most of the time was spent laughing at the variety of suspended objects. Poo bags (empty, praise be!) and tea towels were high on the list but the honours go to a specially crocheted little device with "My Go" embroidered on it.
What really makes this site stand out, however, is its owners' kindness and commitment to its visitors. Three days into our holiday, our beloved 16-year old spaniel collapsed. It was obvious there was something very wrong and we needed to get him back to our own vet rapidly. We told the receptionist we were leaving, expecting the standard response of "We'll refund you if we can fill the pitch." Instead of which, she gave us an immediate refund along with offers of help and lots of good wishes for our boy's recovery. We are so impressed. The previous lockdown must have been such a strain on everyone, not to mention its impact on revenues, and managing the current restrictions on a packed site can't have been easy. But they still had time and care to help us in a situation that was almost overwhelmingly distressing. We can't thank them enough and we will come back to this site with real enthusiasm. .

This is a well run and established site, friendly and quiet, mainly caravans and motor homes with a small field for tents. Site very clean. Pizzas on site were delicious, hot breakfast pastries were a lovely treat too.
Theres a playground and games room. For me the only thing missing was a field with a goal as its a great way for kids to exercise and make new friends, but I'm not sure there's anywhere to fit it in and it's only a minor thing. There are lovely walks just outside the site and useful info available on local attractions. If you are heading off the site to eat, we went to the Hunworth Bell pub, a short drive away, and had a good meal. Dog friendly too.

We booked this campsite back in April and requested a large pitch on the adult only section of the site over the phone as we have a short wheelbase VW Transporter Campervan and a folding camper with a full awning with an attached annexe.

The advertised large pitch was definitely not a large pitch in our opinion. When we arrived on site, we put our folding camper on the pitch and when the awning was attached to our folding camper, we had no space on the pitch to park the van, so we had no choice but to park the van in front of our awning and the van needed moving whenever the customer on
pitch number 16 wanted to pitch up and he couldn’t straighten up his twin-axle caravan meaning that his caravan was at an angle because had he parked his caravan straight, the hitch on his caravan would've been touching our awning and no one would've been able to get through to the dog walk. Pitches no 16 and 17 on the Adults Only section of the site are an absolute joke. The customer on pitch 16 paid for a week but he left after two days as he had had enough.

Our pitch was next to the dog walk and pitch number 16 was overlapping our pitch which was number 17 as shown in the picture. We couldn't put our table and chairs out if we wanted to dine al-fresco or chill out for the evening as the pitches just felt so crammed in, however had we been on a different part of the campsite, I would've been happier. When we had a look at the Caravan and Motorhome Club part of the site it looked very nice.

The wardens do a fantastic job of maintaining the campsite and they are happy to help. The grass was tidy and well kept and there was no litter to be seen. The site is very keen on recycling. There is a green bin for cardboard, paper, cans and plastic, alongside a separate crate for beer bottles and bins for general waste.

Take care when driving down Little Barney Lane and ensure that you stick to the arrival times (arrive after 13:30 and depart the site before 11:00).

It's a real shame about the management of this campsite as they have put in a pitch (number 16 on the Adults Only section of the site) which is non existent and all the management are interested in are making as much money as they can.

We were on pitch 31 and with it being fully serviced it was great. Nice big pitches plus with pitch 31 we had the added extra section on the side.

Conveniently located, this site is tucked away down a little country lane but don’t let that worry you!

The toilets were always immaculate and the showers always hot.
Good on site laundry if you wish to wash anything and at £5 a wash it’s not too pricey.

The play park was ok, not particularly big and near the car park but it was fine.

The games room was a tv, sofa, pool table (50p) and badminton table. It looked like the room was under refurbishment.

The bar was ok, expensive and they serve soft drinks from bottles( the types you buy from the supermarket) which for me is a no no, especially as it’s not any cheaper!

Although we didn’t try the food, the food looked nice but again was expensive. At £15 for a burger and £14 a pizza, to feed a family it would’ve been expensive! There are a few takeaways that deliver to site though.

All in all a great little site for the family, oh and it’s got excellent 4G coverage on o2 as there’s a mast on site!

Just returned from a weeks break in our VW. We were sited in the main field at the top, we had full sun until sunset, perfect pitch.

Fairly quiet with few neighbours until later on in the week, unless you count the 18 rabbits we watched hopping around the pitch on a regular basis 😁

Toilets and showers very clean, plenty of hot water, heating seemed to be on full blast in the block, even I found it a little hot (and I normally feel the cold). Didn’t have to queue, don’t know what it would be like in full season.

Dish washing area very clean with very hot water.

Nice little bar for drinks and takeaway, can’t comment on food as we didn’t purchase any.

Very narrow road going in, however we went in and out every day and only met one car. Not really an issue for us as we are very used to narrow roads.

Bins emptied regularly, very clearly marked for recycling, however some campers either couldn’t see the sign on the recycling bin or didn’t care, opened more than once to find normal rubbish and full dog poo bags!!! Not much more the owners could do about this unfortunately.

Would fully recommend for anyone visiting Norfolk.

We, all 11 of us, stayed in two of the cottages for a week and had a fantastic stay. There was a mixture of ages with enough room for us all. The cottages were very clean with an enclosed garden for the little ones. A washing machine machine along with a dryer (free to use) was housed in a little shed behind the cottages alongside a large car park. The cottages were next to the main site with a gate in the hedge to walk through to the shop and the bar. It was very quiet in the evenings which enabled us to have a great nights sleep. The cottages themselves were well equipped with plenty of crockery/cutlery. The beds were also very clean. The site is just inland from the coast but all areas within easy reach. We visited Norwich, Cromer, Holt, Hunstanton and Wells next the sea. A great week away and would genuinely return.

Just back from 4 nights in our tent at this campsite. Unlike some sites the area for tents is not an afterthought. Well spaced and electric hook up on most pitches. Facilities were excellent and clean, new shower block is superb. Handling of all the current restrictions is done very well. Staff all friendly and excellent. Shop nicely stocked and bar/restaurant on site is great. Friendly atmosphere and of course in a delightful part of the country with lots of great local place to visit and explore. Highly recommended.

Have just returned from a week here. The site is nice enough, although we we were going to fish in the lake but it didn’t look very nice at all. The main issue for us however, were the toilet and shower facilities in the lower field. They not once looked nice and clean. Dead flies all around the sinks in the morning, one hand sink that the plug kept jamming so often left with someone else’s washing water, the other sink appeared to struggle when emptying. One soap dispenser empty for 3 days. Shower floors covered in hair, wanted to use the mop provided but this had hair hanging from it. The hairdryer should be removed completely along with the hand drier and they are useless. It wasn’t even busy when we were there but when we left it was full with MCCC and to be honest I am glad that I won’t be using the shower and toilets alongside all of them.

The campsite grounds are well maintained but the pitches are very close to each other. We stayed on pitch number 34 which is a deluxe pitch but not worth money although it was fully serviced. It is a small pitch in a corner and does not get much sun at all. So avoid this pitch. If you are allocated this be careful how you reverse your caravan onto it as it drops a bit.
To give staff credit we did mention it was bad to reverse onto ,nearly grounded caravan and they said would help on departure if needed. We made sure we stayed to the left to pull out which was fine.
The play area is small, nothing for toddlers at all. Swing , slide etc for children over 5yr.
Toilets and showers ok but not the best, but mop bucket full of dirty water left out all day .
Barneys bar , food really nice would recommend to eat there, just a shame food is in takeaway boxes.
Bar staff friendly, polite and helpful.
One of the Reception / shop staff not as friendly as others.
Premium pitches and showers for these are great, just need to be part of caravan club apparently to book these.
Shame others aren't up to same standard.
Holt and sheringham are lovely places to visit amongst other places in the area
Overall ok , but we wouldn't visit again. Been to far better sites over the years

What is the fishing like and how many people can fish as it looks a bit small on the photos
Answer from Angwyncaravanning

Hi, there’re 7 fishable pegs, while we were on site end July / beginning August, max of 3 occupied. Fishing was hard, lots of knocks on the method / bomb, same on the float. Very few landed. Bait wise - sweet corn, red maggot and bread on the hook, micro pellets, corn & red maggots. £15 for the week is also good value. (Or £7 for 3 days or £3 a day). Crucian carp a must go for, good quality fish.

Hi Rach, there are few caravans who I think are sited as permanent or seasonal but no big static vans I'm sure if you contact them if anyone rents they will be able to help. failing that there is a caravan dealer nearby who rents tourers and can site for you if need be Hope this helps Eamonn
