Our room wasn't ready when we arrived so enjoyed a beer on the deck watching the waterhole. It went on a little long though, way past the 1.00pm check in advertised on the web site. However, when we were shown to our room we were impressed. Beautiful big room and bathroom with wonderful full length picture windows which opened right...

This is a beautiful property overlooking the Etosha park. Stunning lobby and restaurant area. The rooms are very big, have their own patio with loungers overlooking the parks and are totally private too with nothing but wildlife looking into the room. Service is very good. And the game drives into the Etosha park are great. Game drives in the Onguma...

Excellent place to visit. The lodge is beautiful with lots of privacy. Food is amazing and staff very helpful. If you go ona game drive make sure you ask for Justin. Last but least we loved the interior of the place.

We stayed at the Fort as part of our honeymoon. It was AMAZING! We could not recommend this place enough. The rooms and grounds were clean, beautiful, and so comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful (even changed a flat tire for us), and the food was delicious. The view from the main area is stunning, with the most beautiful...

Wow, this is a beautiful lodge. Its location just outside the Etosha Namutoni gate is ideal. The rooms are beautiful with great views, ours looked out to the water hole. The main lodge meals area is fantastic for a sundowner drink followed by the beautiful meals prepared by the chefs. The staff were excellent all throughout the lodge. The game...

We were blown away by our wonderful experience at this Lodge. It was amazing. The staff were super friendly and the food superb. I do not eat meat and the chef made me some of the best fish dishes I have ever tasted. The accommodations were luxurious and the main lodge area fantastic. Would recommend to anyone. I am absolutely...

The service, friendly staff, fabulous architecture, great food, fantastic guide and location, location, location. A thoroughly enjoyable stay. I just wish I had more than 3 nights here and had the time to just sit back and appreciate the surroundings more. A little disappointing that you can't walk to/from your room, you need to be collected/delivered in the golf cart.

The Fort describes its self as “The Fort is unlike any other, the only one of its kind in Namibia”. We agree, of the 7 places we stayed in Namibia (and 12 places across Africa) this place provided a uniquely bad experience. When we arrived we quickly knew something was wrong – no welcoming party, just the Client Manager. The...

Stayed here for 2 nights, this place is absolutely top notch! We were received with cold towels and ice tea when we arrived. Large comfortable cabins with waterhole view. Fantastic food and service. Relaxed atmosphere, nice, not crowded, pool area. Went on 2 guided tours, "sun downer" and "morning trip" with "our favorite guide Justine". A bit pricy, but worth...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This Fort is unlike any other, the only one of its kind in Namibia, built in exactly the right spot to give our guests probably one of the best sunset views in the whole of Namibia. Overlooking the beautiful scarceness of the Etosha Pans, decorated only with its wild animals and hundreds of Camel Thorn trees that dot the landscape. Accommodation consists of twelve Bush Suites with fire places for the winter months and air coolers for the summer months. Each suite has an indoor and outdoor shower. The one and only Fort Suite is situated inside the Main Tower of the main complex. It has a large beautifully designed bedroom that leads into a lounge area and out onto a private viewing deck. ... more   less
