Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was the staff that really made our stay at Cosy Hotel a 5/5 experience On arrival we were greeted with lavish smiles and a welcome cup of tea. To manage expectations the room needs a description. We were given a choice of rooms and choose a courtyard room to avoid the very excitable motorbikes on the street side. The room was large enough to accommodate a king size bed and a single which was perfect as I was travelling with my elderly mother. The bathroom was the only disappointment as it was very small with a loo a sink and a shower all within the same 1m2 however it was very clean. There was good Wi-Fi which was very easy to connect and wall sockets for me to plug my charger into with my adapter. We had dinner in the upstairs rooftop restaurant. The chef was very accommodating, soup was delicious and homemade, I had a stir fry noodle dish and mum had veg momo’s…..there were none left for me to try which was a good sign. We asked for an extra blanket each for our beds as we both feel the cold and we’re given another fresh duvet each so slept so well and snug. Breakfast was a delight. We asked for banana pancakes and king curd which were delicious, we had guava juice and mum had a hot chocolate and I had a cappuccino with amazing latte art that I’ll remember forever ;-) We only stayed a night but we will remember forever the amazing and wonderful staff.

The absolute best aloo palak we've had in Nepal!!! So delicious, fresh, healthy and beautiful. Their kitchen was sparkling clean. Very impressive. While we were waiting for our meal he brought us a small bowl of their home made nacho chips that were also delicious! Thank you for the great view, delicious food and perfect service!!!

The service and staff are fantastic. They made us feel really welcome from the moment we arrived. My room had plenty of space and a great view looking over the shops below. Loved spending time on the roof and I'd definitely recommend rooftop breakfast. Great location in Old Bhaktapur, just a short walk to the square.

The hotel is in a great location in the heart of Pottery Square. The room was cosy (pun intended) and included satellite TV and water bottles. The toilet was very small and had a musty smell. The reception claims you can pay with credit card until checkout when attempting to do so it did not work.

We had a so so experience at the hotel. The room are fairly large (although not really the bathroom) and some have nice balconies. Location is perfect and the rooftop is nice. However the hotel is a bit desuet, with badly ageing style. The main issue with that is that the $50 rooms seem too pricey for what you get. Internet was not working but anyway the wifi signal could hardly reach the rooms. Our AC was also broken and there was not hot water pressure in the morning. The staff was cool and gave us a discount but overall we would probably not stay there again

Nice hotel in pottery square. Rooms a good size and fairly comfortable. Bathroom spretty small and could do with better clean to get of the musty smell. Overall though, good hotel for the price. Great roof top restaurant and excellent staff. The hotel looks out on to the local street and an internal court yard withith a small temple. Which is an added bonus.

We stayed here for 3 nights in February. Pluses: 1) Very friendly, kind, and helpful staff. They even paid our $15 Bhaktapur entry fee because we didn't have rupees yet, and allowed us to add it to our hotel bill. 2) Free, strong wifi 3) Quiet location in an inner courtyard 4) Rooftop terrace 5) Inexpensive restaurant with good food (all Bhaktapur menus are the same, they are at least cheaper) 6) Breakfast included 7) Excellent price point value 8) Nepalese & atmospheric Minuses 1) It was cold. There was a space heater in the room, but the breakfast is on the rooftop, and there's no indoor seating. Very cold mornings. 2) Housekeeping was not on point. The entire 3 nights, our room was cleaned and straightened, but the bathroom was not. Usually this is not a big deal, but in Nepal you can't flush toilet paper, so the bathroom trash MUST be emptied every day!! We had to ask for them to clean the bathroom, restock toilet paper and soap, etc. Overall, recommend for a stay in Bhaktapur.

We stay 2 night at cosy hotel. The staff was really nice and friendly. The room was clean and they begin renovation. On the roof top you can find sunny restaurant. Good food and good view. Quiet area ( into a noisy city ). Close to pottery square.

First time visiting Nepal and my mum chose Cosy Hotel for us to stay in. From the outside, it didn't look like much - look like any other building in Bhaktapur, a bit old and weary looking. But they have renovated the inside to be quite modern looking. Everything's clean and well kept. Wifi speed was okay - you don't go to Nepal to surf the web after all. We happened to be there during one of Nepal's major festivals so we woke up to this great parade right outside our hotel windows in the morning. Amazing!
