I recently spent a week in Alsace, hiking from town to town and stayed at 5 hotels. This was one of the nicer ones. The room was a good size, nice bedding, one of the better restaurants (at least associated with hotels) that I tried. Breakfast wasn't anything special, but wasn't at all bad. Reception was incredibly helpful and kind,...

We were here as part of a Sherpa walking tour in Alsace (Sherpa arranged this in advance so we don't know what the room rate was). The woman at the desk, who spoke no english, was a bit perturbed that we arrived from a day of walking in the rain and were soggy and our boots were less than clean...

Kastelberg is a friendly hotel with a good restaurant in Andlau. The owners are very friendly and helpfull and speak German and English besides French. The room was comfortable but not modern. The WiFi connection was a bit slow, but both dinner and breakfast were excellent. More a place for a holiday than for business, but nevertheless ok for a...

The bathroom was large, newly refurbished and very attractive, with a good shower. There was, sadly, a lot of road noise from vehicles and harvesting equipment early in the morning. The fixed dinner and...

This hotel was a good modern-style hotel in Andlau. The room was spacious and well appointed, although there were some old damp stains on a corner of the ceiling in the bedroom. The evening meal and the breakfast were both very good. The proprietors were friendly and helpful - including offering unprompted to take our walking boots for drying after...

We stayed at Hotel Kastelberg in 1988 and returned this year on a nostalgic tour of our trip way back when. It is a lovely inn in a very quiet town in Alsace. Andlau is a small wine town and it's close to the bigger tourist town of Barr (also a lovely spot). Don't expect modern furniture and sleek bathrooms....
