Found this place by accident when very tired. Made to feel very welcome by the owner. Very basic place but nice and clean and spacious. Comfy beds and pleasant breakfast. Could do with some updates but would stay again because of its quirkiness.

At first sight this hotel does nothing for you although it is very pretty.
But we had a lovely time there. The room was run down but very clean with lovely clean fresh sheets. No real shower, just a hand held. So very French. Everything was old but just what you would expect in an old French Hotel.
We were made very welcome. The staff were so nice and breakfast was very good with all the usual buffet style goodies to eat and drink. I think it must be family run.

What a surprise Blaye was. A lovely town with a Citadel and wow what a history. They even had Country dancing in the town square the night we were there.
We spent the morning in the town but unfortunately had to leave at lunchtime as we had a boat to catch. But will definitely schedule this into out itinerary next year.
