We stayed one night when we visited Mont Saint Michel which is about half an hour away by car. We arrived at night and parking was a bit difficult to find. You need to go into the narrow street to get to the back of the hotel, but had a plenty of space. The garden was beautiful with autumn leaves...

Good value Hotel in the middle of Avranches with good parking facilities. The room was clean and comfortable looking out onto the garden. Thoroughly reccommend the restaurant, good choice of menu and very tasty food but not cheap. Service impeccable. A good overnight stop - but not much to do or see the the town itself.

This hotel is very welcoming, and has a lovely garden and ambience. Unfortunately, while dinner is very good, it is also very expensive and appeared to be overpriced for certain items (over 11 euros for a 3+ euro bottle of cider). Given some of the excellent accommodation available in the area, I'm not sure we would stay again.

Very welcoming and helpful staff. Room very good value. Garden lovely. Sadly, service in restaurant was patchy and front of house very pushed to serve so many covers. For example, had to ask twice for a jug of water; 'amusée bouché' only came 20 minutes after us sitting down. Stale canopes with aperitif. Food very acceptable. Under staffed front of...

Large comfortable bedrooms, with large comfortable beds. Excellent restaurant with menus in french and english. Staff very friendly and helpful. Decor is traditional but elegant and attractive and parking is free at the back of the premisses, several parking places undercover. Used as a one night stopover for Mont St Michel, but the town has something to offer if you...

Second time we have stayed here. Rooms a little dark, but very fresh and thoughtfully arranged with good bathrooms and a separate loo, which is helpful. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner, it's just soap dispensers! Kettle and basic tea and coffee in rooms. Lovely views over a beautiful garden, ideal to relax in....you wouldn't know you were on the...

The excellent restaurant and pretty gardens were exactly as we remembered from our previous two visits some years ago. A stay is worthwhile for the quality of the restaurant alone. The whole place has real character and the staff were very helpful and hospitable. Best rooms overlook the gardens.

We stopped here overnight before travelling on to the gite we had rented. We were welcomed when we arrived and our bags taken to our room. The rooms are set around a charming garden - possibly the original courtyard of a coaching inn. The room was very adequate for what was required - but did smell a bit musty. The...

Stayed for one night on way from Caen ferry to Rochefort. Very easy trip and lovely small Logis Hotel. Old coaching Inn.,great location at top end of town. 5 mins walk into town and 5 mins walk to Patton Memorial. Great restaurant and good breakfast. Staff didn't speak or acknowledge we were there. Room adequate apart from noisy occupants above....

The difference is palpable when you check into a family run hotel. Here at La Croix d’Or, there is a sense of pride in their history involving three generations and a tradition of hospitality for travellers dating from the 17th century that they have carried on in the same spirit. For La Croix d’Or was an important coaching inn then...
