The hotel is set back from the road in a wooded area, accessed by a long drive.
The building looks splendid and is in excellent condition.
The lobby, on arrival, sets the tone of the building.
Being on the second floor, access to the room via a narrow spiral staircase was a little challenging - a lift would be useful
The rooms are comfortable, with good WiFi.
However, I was disappointed that there was not even one english speaking channel on the TV. BBC news would have been good.
Breakfast was served in the breakfast room overlooking the grounds and was very good.
There is no restaurant on site, but the staff recommended good restaurants in the area.
Overall a very comfortable hotel, but certainly gave the impression of being pretentious.

Brann and his team run a highly professional Manoire, that is exquisite in every aspect.
The Manoir is spotlessly clean and furnished beautifully.
The suites are so so comfortable and the ambience of the Manoire is very special.
A five star stay
Thank you.

Thanks to Tripadvisor members reviews we selected this Hotel as our first stop on our journey from Roscoff to Saumur, what a good decision. We were early arriving as our ferry docked at 6am. Our room was not quite ready however Maryvonne a truly wonderful French lady on reception made us most welcome, served us a superbly presented tea and biscuits on the lovely bright airy terrace overlooking the magnificent gardens arranged for our cases to be taken to the room being prepared then called us some 10 minutes later to say it was now ready. No fuss no bother just great service.
I had e-mailed in advance to request a room if available, close to all amenities, as both my wife and I have mobility problems. True to his word the owner Brann Manrot Le Goarnic arranged for a suitable room to meet our requirements. It was superb, everything you could wish for in an Hotel of this standard. Absolutely no complaints.
The location and setting of the Manoir is simply stunning. Set in a forested area of some 85 hectare's well back from the main road surrounded by beautiful well maintained gardens featuring a luxurious gazebo and loungers for the use of guests it provides a tranquil haven of peace and quite to utterly relax in.
As the Manoir does not have a restaurant we frequented local eateries as recommended by Brann, Maryvonne and Sophie. All, except the Manoir du Duc, were excellent. Pont Aven, with a Michelin starred restaurant is only a short drive away and was the principal purpose of our visit.
We cannot praise Kertalg highly enough, beautifully kept, superb helpful friendly staff, we enjoyed our stay so much we booked in for another two nights on our return journey. We look forward to returning again.

We arrived at the Manoir de Kertalg with our friends only to be greeted with hostility by the manager/man on Reception. As he couldn't find our reservation, he told us that we hadn't booked and that it was our problem. We then provided proof of our reservation (which was for the correct date) and he then told us that we had made a mistake as we booked through the wrong internet booking site! The reservation for the Manoir was made for the following night. This was not our error but his. This so called manager then said he could find a room for us (meanwhile our friends were shown a lovely room that was booked correctly) which was the tiniest room at the top of the tower without a shower and very tiny windows. We then asked for a room with a shower, at which point he said he could upgrade us to a room with a shower on the provision that we pay for an upgrade!! He assured us that the room below which was the one we were booked in the following night, was exactly the same as the room we were in. But it was not. The room below (which I sighted) was larger, with a shower and had large windows. He was lying! He is an unfortunate man - and I can't believe he is the manager. This would rate as my worst hotel experience - no apology, not making amends - just an arrogant attitude. Beware!

Next time you visit France don't miss Brittany, with it's dramatically beautiful coastline, golden sand beaches, quaint fishing harbors and old villages. Years ago, my wife and I discovered the Manoir de Kertalg. This spectacular property, gorgeous guest rooms and friendly staff make this resort our favorite in all of Brittany. We can't wait for our next visit there. As a bonus you are just minutes from Pont Aven, the city of art, where Gauguin and numerous artists called home and Belon, the little town known for the origin of the world famous Belon oysters.

Save hours of research. The Manoir de Kertalg is it.

The decoration is overly fussy and despite the photos - taky in places. Plastic flowers and foliage and too much colour. The accommodation is in the old stables, not the main house so misleading 'Chateau' should be changed. Compared with other luxury B&Bs in the area, this hotel needs to up its game and reduce its price. You pay for a 4 star (pretending to be a 5 star), but the experience is no more than a 3 star.

I'd imagine it is good for wedding receptions where the weekend is packaged as an all inclusive deal with set menus and wine.

If I could change anything, it would be the very expensive breakfast (just include it in the rate and charge 10€ for it) and have less fussy decoration.

I will go back again sometime in the future, but only if the place gets a facelift.

We stayed here last June with our 18 month old son
Our first impression was a bit of a wow factor, lovely grounds - my wife thought it would be a great place for a small wedding.
When we arrived the man at reception could not have been nicer to us, we were well impressed with him. There was a slight mix up with the booking but this was sorted straight away. We found out later that this was the owner of the place. Manoir de Kertalg has a family hands on approach which we appreciate and look for when booking.
We stayed here for one night, as a stop over before getting the ferry from Roscoff. We would have liked another night or two here.

The property here is beautiful, no doubt about it, and there are lots of wonderful things to do nearby.

The renovation inside is a little naff. Fake trees and a bowl of plastic fruit in the lobby? Come on...

Brann, the much discussed artist/manager is a lot to deal with when you're on holiday. We had quite a conversation with him about why the wifi wasn't working in our room:

Us: "We are having trouble with the wifi receiver you gave us."
Him: "The wifi receiver is German, of course it works."
Us: "No, it's not working."
Him: "Well it must be your computer."
Us: "No, and we used a wifi receiver like this just the other day at another chateau and it worked fine."
Him: "Well what can I say. It's German, of course it works properly. You must have a virus on your computer or something."

And then there was the debate over how many glasses of complimentary champagne we were due...it turned out that we were right - it was four - but only after he inelegantly argued the issue with us for twenty minutes before checking his records and confirming what we knew from the start. At that point we didn't even want the champagne.

We also loved that he made a reservation at a nearby restaurant identifying us only as "The Americans." That really made us feel welcome.

His colleague, a woman whose name we can't remember either, was very kind and sweet and we appreciated her graciousness.

We are rating this AVERAGE as opposed to POOR because despite the management, we still had a nice time in the area, and the grounds were quite beautiful.

But beware the wifi that never worked for us in the room and the prickly manager!

The setting of this hotel is absolutely beautiful as are the rooms and the staff are very nice and helpful, the major problem with this hotel is the beds THEY ARE SO UNCOMFORTABLE AND VERY SMALL! My husband and I stayed for two nights and I have to say, after two nights of little to no sleep it was a relief to move on to the next place, it is a shame as other than this it would be lovely but I am afraid I could not recommend this place to anyone as for me to be on holiday and unable to get a good nights rest is unacceptable, especially for the price we paid.
