Had to right a review. Looks dated from the road and owners not really around much but great place. Clean room, comfortable and nice. Will stay here again. Should drop price by about $10 a night after October 1 but nice place.

It is easy to "get nervous" approaching the St. John's Motel, but it is the only accommodation in town, so go for it. But, prepare for one of the sweetest surprises you can imagine. You're turning back time over 50 years in decor, with personal attention to unsurpassed cleanliness, comfortable bedding, thoughtful sweet treats, and more ... like the owner...

I've stayed here twice now and felt a need to leave a review because not many motels have an inviting charm like this. It has an 'up-north' cottage feel, and with a nice lady who seems to run it (both times she's checked me in). It's convenient to US127 with many businesses (stores, gas stations & bars) near.

Upon arriving we noticed that the grounds and exterior appeared shabby and rundown. There was no one in the office, and we called a phone number that was posted on the door of the office. We were told we could enter our room because the door was open. Indeed it was, and we looked around and decided that we would...

Great experience. The proprietors are lovely people who clearly take pride in their establishment. It's absolutely adorable. We generally stay in Radisson-type hotels, not mom-and-pop places like this. St. John's has nothing along those lines so we gave this place a chance based on the positive reviews here on Trip Advisor. No regrets!

This was a very nice place to stay. Small town with all of the services of a big town. The rooms are all decorated like a bedroom at home. They are located a couple miles off the interstate... just follow the signs.

This is an old road side motel from the early days of travel. It is remodeled and decorated very nicely. The lady was very nice who ran the motel. They did have WiFi. No breakfast but very friendly people.

I needed only a one-night stay and this motel seemed to fit the bill. Extremely reasonable, clean room, and very friendly owner. Couldn't get over the quaintness of the decor. A bit crowded with all the knickknacks but it worked. I have never been offered so many free treats to eat either. At least 6 separate cookies, bars and candy...

I stayed here in later August, 2014. Very reasonably priced. Very homey. It was like sleeping in my aunt's guest room. The room was very clean. The owners were very nice and helpful. It was a very lovely stay.

We enjoyed our 4 night stay. Each morning we were greeted with a coffee butler and mugs on the bench outside our door. The owners were a delight to talk with. The grounds and room were filled with antiques to look at and enjoy. Even thought all the rooms were full most of the nights we never heard any noise....
