Room was clean, with a separate living room area with kitchenette and table for two. Couch in living room was older and worn. Price was reasonable. Easy access to all activities in the Traverse City area. No breakfast served, but room had small coffee machine.
I specifically chose this place because it was reasonable AND had a hot tub. My husband just ran a 24 hour relay and they hot tub was important for cold body and tired muscles. Upon check in the not very friendly lady told me "oh, nope everything gets closed up on labor day, no hot tub" Are you kidding? A closed hot tub in the fall in Northern Michigan? Ridiculous, not one mention of it on the website, as a matter of fact it lists it under summer and winter activities. I reserved on Expedia with a take 5 off offer, never got the offer, called 3x and left message that was never returned, then told at check in they weren't sure what that even was. Oh also, don't intend on needing anything after 8pm....the office is closed. Terrible way to run a business, maybe it's better in the summer but seems like maybe they should close completely on labor day so as to not bother with the inconvience of guests.
We had dinner here recently and it was pretty good. My husband had a patty melt and I tried their pizza. The ingredients on the pizza were so fresh and man was the cheese stretchy! You take a bite and the cheese just stretches out a mile!! Very fun! I got the 12” and had enough left over for both of us at our hotel later after swimming. Both were excellent! Very sweet waitress. Not too far from our hotel, which was nice.
36th hotel this trip. The room was clean, with a separate bedroom (small) & a nice sized living area. Plenty of closet/storage space. The complete kitchenette had a few dishes & pots/pas. There were TVs in both parts of the suite. We did not make use of the Wi-if, heat, or AC. The bed was comfortable. We had the room closest to the office -- 101. There was noticeable road noise; this might be less of a problem in the rooms further from the street. There are a few things that keep it from getting a top rating: no breakfast, no guest laundry, no fitness center, no view, no full-time reception. In other places we've stayed, we have gotten all of these things for this price. Traverse Bay Inn is a fine place to get a night's sleep while yoou're in the area.
We recently spent a night at this motel. It is an older property but was well maintained. The room was actually a living room, bedroom, and bathroom. There is a kitchenette that had every kind of pot or dishes you could possibly need if you wanted to eat in. Everything was very clean and we had a great nights sleep. Would stay here again if we are in the area.

231 938 2646 is their phone number. I'd check directly with them. Verify, when they answer, the name of the hotel. I think they may have changed owners, but not sure. Most Traverse hotels are willing to work with you during the off season if you want an earlier check in or a later check out.
