Found this gem in a book called "The New York Times 36 Hours USA & Canada Midwest and Great Lakes." I don't normally associate Bed & Breakfasts with families, but the website assured me that well-behaved kids are welcome and that there are 'quiet hours.' Our kids are 11, 13, and 15 and while The Wife and I needed to...

My husband and I just returned from spending our anniversary in the lovely Old Mission Peninsula. Our trip would not have been so perfect had we not discovered Neahtawanta Inn. Sally and her assistant, Patt, are very kind and were so inviting yet at the same time my husband and I were able to enjoy each other's company without disturbance....

This place is perfect. It's a beautiful old building that has been expertly restored and updated. It is in a quiet location on Grand Traverse Bay away from the noise and crowds of the town. You will have your own private beach, dock and lovely front porch to sit upon. There are also chairs on the lawn and a fire...

This Inn was a happy accident! We found this through an internet search and we are so glad we did. The rates are so reasonable. The rooms are quaint and well kept and the whole facility is very clean with lots of character. It's a magical little place, with simple and honest food, good coffee, and a fantastic porch to...

We look forward to our booking each year and it never disappoints, unless we can't get a room. The lake is especially beautiful this year (2015). Even 2-3 days helps us unwind for the rest of the year.

Neahtawanta Inn is like staying at your family vacation home that you never had. And look, your hippy aunt has made you a delicious vegetarian breakfast! All joking aside, it's a great place for a laid-back and relaxing vacation. You can: take the kayaks out, take a yoga class on the lawn, visit some area wineries, read a book on...

At the end of a journey, short or long, you will find the Neahtawanta Inn to be worth the trip in every respect. Sally and her staff are gracious and thoughtful (almost mind readers!), the lake location is perfect, with wonderful dock, swimming, lounging on the sand or grassy yard. The rooms are perfect, spotless with every amenity at your...

The Inn itself offers the guest a unique view of the owners history and outlook into a life style that is both comforting and informative. The interior is large and inviting with...

We just completed what was at least our fifth stay at the Neahtawanta and it was a wonderful experience, as always. The Inn is tucked away on the small Neahtawanta peninsula within the larger Old Mission peninsula and as such is just a few minutes by car from some very good restaurants and a host of wineries. Still, staying at...
