Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited this venue recently, this was in our room. The whole place is full of rats everywhere, totally infested, please avoid do not go here!!!! Cannot believe this place allows this. When reported to the manager, she just said “UPS, could you put it in the bins outside”

Response from Silverwood Resort, General Manager at Silverwood Lodges & Bistro
Responded 2 days ago
Silverwood can definitely 'Smell a Rat' here !!! This is clearly not our Resort and definitely not any of our flooring, we don't have guest rooms we have self catering Lodges, we have also never had any infestations and our Manager is not female. Vacation67579426766 I suggest you review the 'Venue' as you called it which you allegedly had recently stayed with and take this up with their Management direct. Can you remove this review from our Site and direct it to the appropriate business that this is concerning, I would also like to point out that if you did have an issue with this at any venue or hotel it would have been dealt with immediately on site. Also given you have just joined Tripadvisor not surprisingly with only 1 Contribution, albeit this is a positive forum not only to assist travellers with their choices of accommodation etc... it is also a very wide open forum for disgruntled guest's and any member of the public to openly and freely try and damage any business reputation. Not Silverwood and please remove thank you !! Regards Silverwood Team

Worst holiday ever.my 80 year old mother in law while using the "allocated"unlit path.fell over a massive boulder in the middle of the path.we reported to the owner who did not take down Any details or even ask how she was. The holiday was ruined.the owner would not take my calls or answer emails.the accident was not reported to riddor or health and safety.we were told the boulder was to stop cars going down.so why is it not at the top of the path were people can see it.i have asked for this to be rectified .but again no reply. As this caters for weddings were drink is imbibed you can see the problem.we were all sober and could not see it till I videod and put my torch on.even now 6 weeks later my mother in law is still in a lot of pain.after giving silverwood every opportunity to reply.i now have to get a solicitor.

Response from Silverwood Resort, General Manager at Silverwood Lodges & Bistro
Responded 1 week ago
Dear Robert, We are sorry that your mother in law had an accident, However instead of discussing this incident you feel that you need to look for compensation immediately and attack the business, both in your e mail and via trip advisor. In your E mail to Silverwood you threatened legal action and asked for compensation. This is clearly an attempt to claim money back, We do not respond to these types of e mail and we await your official lawyer's response where we will deal with this. We have full public liability insurance who would conduct an investigative report into the matter when it comes through the official channels. You stated "Not once have you offered to compensate my family for the ruination of our holiday." We have NOT had any accidents on site since opening in 2018 and clearly say that use of the facilities carpark etc is at your own risk. The large boulder in the path has been there over 4 years to stop vehicles. It was also witnessed by 2 members of staff your mother saying it was her own fault that she was not looking where she was going and tripped over the stone. We do have a record on site of this report and welcome any appropriate discussions with any representative in an appropriate manner. The Staff do not tolerate abusive or threatening calls & e mails.  The accident was noted as non severe as no hospital or medical services were called and no medical report was supplied.  We do understand that any accident is upsetting however you are clearly using this for financial gain and feel you need to exploit this over social medial for your own personal gain. Should you wish to make a claim please have a representative contact us where we will be happy to assist.

The venue as a wedding venue was stunning, staff friendly & service great. The only thing that let it down was the food. The standard was “school dinner” standard. As a vegetarian I was given no choice of meal or prior warning of what I would be eating. Myself and the other vegetarians were served half an aubergine with diluted tomato soup poured over as a main meal, served with 3 potatoes. The steak pie & chicken dishes were equally awful, as was the desert. When I sent a complementary but fair review I was blocked by Silverwood. Please take your own caterers if you book this fabulous venue. For £70 a head I at least expect pub grub standard of food. Truly the worst meal ever which I had no choice but to eat. It was that or nothing. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else

Would highly recommend these lodges, they were clean and well equipped. If you want a peaceful break then this is definitely the place to go, They are central to Perth and Dundee. We had one with a spa but others have hot tubs ( next visit I will go for the hot tub) The staff were really helpful and friendly. Unfortunately on our visit we had a visit from storm Babet which caused some flooding to the car park but the Silverwood staff were out in all the wind and rain to sort this while we were inside all cosy but this did not affect our break in anyway. I would highly recommend booking here and we will certainly be going back.

We had a lovely few days in a nice location. We found customer service very disappointing and there were lots of little things that could have made the stay nicer. The information given on their website about WiFi and smart tv’s is incorrect, when you arrive they tell you there is only limited WiFi at the front of the cabin, we struggled to even join that and the tv advertised as a smart tv had no internet connection so we could not access Netflix. We were travelling with a teenager so this was important and we wouldn’t have gone had we known that. We asked for help on 2 occasions and neither time did anyone do anything to help I fact the lady looked like she couldn’t care less. There were no hand towels, only 1 pillow per person, despite being a spa lodge no robes, no mattress protectors and one of the pillows was stained. These are all additions you would expect in a luxury lodge which this was described as on the website. Disappointing service, thankfully we made the most of our trip.
