Silverwood Lodges & Bistro is frequently commended by guests for its friendly staff and spotless accommodations, ensuring a comfortable stay in its spacious and well-appointed lodges. Nestled in a tranquil location near Perth and Dundee, it's the perfect base for exploring or hosting special events.

From the initial viewing up until our big day we couldn’t have faulted the communication and hard work of Jacqui who helped us plan our day down to a T, which made things so smooth for myself and my partner. Forever grateful for her efforts 🫶🏼
The venue itself is stunning, with not having to do much DIY to it in terms of decoration, both barns have natural beauty. Which is one thing that we were drawn to when viewing Silverwood. We actually viewed Silverwood first as a potential venue and never looked at anything else in the end. At the time we had an offer granted if we booked within 2 weeks we could save £500 so the booking of the barn was £4.500. Soon given a function sheet with all added extras if required.
The grounds were kept in perfect condition whilst they continue to expand their resort - also very beautiful surroundings.
As we stayed only the weekend of the wedding, unable to comment much on what to do outwith if staying for a holiday, however being from the Perth area there is always something to do with kids, or just as adults in both near cities Perth and Dundee. My in-laws even travelled to and from Edinburgh which is an easy drive if looking to do some touristy things outwith the area completely for the day to have a hot tub to return to after a long day.
We used caterers outwith Silverwood only due to not wanting a traditional sit down 3 course meal, so unable to comment on their food supply. However, they have now introduced a food truck which we utilised on the Friday evening and the food was 10/10 delicious 🤤. We will definitely visit again for this!!
The lodges are also very modern and well kept. I’m not really fussed about going into every corner to expect, however did not notice anything unusual, unkempt or “dirty” the whole weekend we stayed. The only thing I could suggest is bring an extra pillow! The pillows provided aren’t the greatest (common theme from my guests who stayed on site). Fully fitted kitchen etc so can cook from the lodge rather than eating out all the time. Comfortable couches and big enough to have our groom and bridal parties to spend quality time together in separate lodges.
Still awaiting return of deposits so again can’t comment on this (I have seen issues in previous reviews, however it has not reached our time limit yet - will report back) we were £1000 deposit for damage of barn as well as £100 deposit per lodge we had booked for our bridal and groom parties. Just to keep that in mind 🙂
Thank you guys again for making our day so special and allowing us to use your beautiful venue. We hope to be back in the future (possibly a one year anniversary stay?!) 🤩
Thanks!
The Sherwoods ❤️

My wife and I just returned a couple of days ago where we had a two night stay. We booked a two bedroom lodge with the indoor spa bath. On entering the Lodge, I turned to my wife and said, " This is exactly what I've been looking for." Followed by, "We'll definitely be back here. " The decor was modern, and the property was spotless. Staff had made the lodge very welcoming, It was warm and cosy with lights switched on with the electric log effect fire. There were two bedrooms, two large bathrooms with large showers, one of which was en suite and the indoor jacuzzi bath was large and private. All cooking appliances and fridge freezer were spotless. It was very quiet and just what we were looking for. There was a park for children on the green across from us, which would be ideal for children in better weather. Overall, we were delighted with everything. The ladies at reception, Jacqueline and Amanda, were lovely and friendly. Nothing was a problem. We look forward to returning again and again in the future.

This is a lovely resort in a great location. It is set up for weddings, but offers excellent value for a couple of nights away between their events. The park is spotless as was our lodge which was fresh, contemporary and flooded with natural light overlooking freshly rolled haybales in the fields behind and the expansive park area to the front. Beds were very comfortable, showers excellent and we loved the spa bath. Kitchen was nicely done, and the smart tv and heating worked well. There is no bistro or shop on site, or really within walking distance, so do come with a few bits and pieces. There is however a very decent food van there some nights for takeout. The lack of facilities does, though, add to the sense of quiet peacefulness, and the surrounding area is lovely - with Perth and Dundee both 20mins by car. If you are there in season, don't miss the fruit shack just west of Errol for delicious strawberries!

This venue was a bit disappointing. The buildings and facilities were well maintained and high quality but they seem to fall short in comforts and experience. One thin pillow per person isn’t great. The also take a mandatory deposit of £100 before handing keys over. The get the deposit back, you need to adhere by a multitude of rules. A lot of this is standard but a threat of retaining the deposit if beds aren’t stripped is a bit excessive. The hot tubs have strict times where they can’t be used after 9pm or before 10am, again under threat of deposit being retained. The food can only accepts online orders but there is no WiFi and poor signal so this made ordering food highly difficult. It’s been 17 days and we still haven’t got our deposit back and the staff are not particularly helpful when chasing this up.

We stayed here for our friends wedding. On arrival i was greeted by the grumpiest woman who couldn’t raise a smile, she told me that after paying £630 i had to then pay £100 security deposit, i wasn’t happy but paid anyway, she mumbled the directions to the lodge, when i left a gentleman who i assume works there ran after me and apologised and told me exactly where the lodge was, he looked slightly embarrassed. On entering the £630 lodge i found the bedroom carpet to be stained, an earring down the side of the bed and tea stains in the cupboard, not the end of the world but when paying premium prices i do expect premium cleanliness and amenities, let’s get on to that. A lodge for 4 people which is self catering should have pots large enough to cook for 4 people, 2 tiny pots! ridiculous!! No grater, no colander, no dish towels, 4 sheets of kitchen roll and no shops close enough to go buy some so we couldn’t dry our dishes, not hygienic! No internet! The fact we had to take cushions from the living area as we had one flat pillow each was just too much for me. I’ve been in lodges before with these problems but i’ve paid half the price so not thought it an issue. How dare you charge these prices for sub standard accommodation then leave the guests a long list of rules, my personal favourite was.. use the toilet before going in the hot tub.. ok dad!! I waited 11 days for my security deposit back which was a bit out of order, i shouldn’t have had to chase them up for it as others also had to do. On a positive note, they really do host an amazing wedding, the staff (apart from reception lady) were lovely, the venue was perfection and the ceremony was magical in the outdoor area. The venue would be ideal for weddings if they adjusted the lodges to match the prices or lower the prices to match the lodges and not expect so much from residents without providing the same.

We were upgraded to Lodge 17 from Lodge 6 due to a wedding taking place
I can only assume this was to keep wedding guests together
Stay was pleasant enough, however, when lodges are advertised as "luxury", then luxury is what you expect. What you don't excpect is:
1 flat pillow per person Curtains throughout the lodge which were not ironed (obviously hung straight out of the packet) Dreadful WI-FI Bottle shelf in the fridge was broken and had been glued but fell off again when bottles were placed in it There were no curatain or blinds on the front windows of the lodge so no privacy at night The twin room had only 2 coat hangers On arrival we found a glass behind the curtain in the rear bedroom so obviously window sill had not been cleaned The lodge is for up to 6 people but the fridge was not large enough and only had a small freezer box No dishwasher or washing machine which is surprising for a "luxury lodge" Crockery is a mis-match of different types The hot tub is supposed to be unlocked at 9.30 a.m. but on the Sunday 12th May 2024 and Monday 13th May 2024 it was 10.30 at least before it was unlocked
The location is very pleasant but be aware there is very little on site for anybody other than wedding guests
Would suggest getting a food delivery from one of the supermarkets in Perth. We got a delivery from Asda
T o be clear this is a true reflection of our stay and the accommodation is not "luxurious" and standards need to be raised

Just back from a 3 nights stay over Christmas and we couldn’t recommend Silverwood any more. We were a family of 5 adults and a toddler and stayed in lodge 17. The lodge was a perfect size for our group with plenty of space. It had a fully equipped modern kitchen and cooking Christmas dinner was no problem. Everything was spotless clean and really comfortable. The site is really quiet and perfect for a family break. Brilliant outdoor area with hottub and sitting area that would be perfect for food and drinks in summer. The staff were really welcoming and gave us some great tips for the local area. The barn & bistro were closed when we were there but it looks a stunning venue. It would be really good to have this open in the future and add to a great experience. There is a village pub about 15 mins walk away and a spar. We went for a few Christmas Day lunch time drinks and the locals were really welcoming and chatty. Even though the site is a 2 mins drive off the motorway, making it easily accessible, you would have no idea the motorway is so close when you are on the site. I had looked at numerous lodges around Scotland for Christmas but you would struggle to get anything close to silverwood for the very reasonable price range. We will definitely be returning later in the year

Went for a 2 night Mon-Wed stay to celebrate my GF's birthday. Stayed in lodge 12 that had two bedrooms and a hot tub outside. I had been here about 5 years ago as part of wedding party attending a wedding on a nearby farm. It was very peaceful back then as it was just the lake and around a dozen or so lodges but they have done really well to expand into a site you could easily use for your whole event. plenty of nice lodges, a park and plenty of space for kids and nice event buildings. I could imagine it would be a great day for everyone and no need to move venues from start to finish.
A midweek stay meant it was very quiet and staff at reception were very helpful and welcoming. I had read reviews about the lack of cooking utensils and poor internet connectivity. As we were just coming from Glasgow it wasn't too much hassle to stick some cooking stuff in the car but I can't say I needed much if any of it. Lodge was well stocked. My GF did struggle for internet but I had a solid 4G connection on Three so we could sit comfortably and watch netflix etc in the cosy living area. Lodge was very clean on arrival and had everything we needed. It's also very cosy and doesn't take long to warm up and stay that way. Hot tub was amazing and good for some star gazing whilst keeping warm.
I was aware of the £100 security deposit which wasn't a problem as I wasn't planning on wrecking the place and can't say I experienced any delays in getting that back as some may have in previous reviews. Bundling the linen and towels into a bag at the end wasn't the most arduous task and I like to leave places tidy anyway so no problems there.
All in very nice secluded break and would definitely go back for a quiet break or potentially with a group where the kids could run about and the adults can socialise.

I stayed at Silverwood Resort over Christmas with my family this year and we can’t recommend it enough. The lodges were beautiful, very clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, one of our rooms didn’t have towels and we let reception know and they brought us a big bag of extra towels, and we also needed a bigger pot for our Christmas dinner which they also provided on request. It is fully self catering but we found out once we were there that they do offer Christmas lunches if you pre-book and they also do a Hogmanay party. We loved our stay and we plan on rebooking!

Location is good your kinda of halfway between Perth and Dundee only downside if you would like to have a few drinks might be an issue getting to/from the lodges. Great location if you want to be out the way and like to travel into bigger town or go hill walking. Plenty of towels. Cooking equipment is quite limited pans etc we one tiny frying pan for a 3 bed lodge lucky there was only 2 of us, we did ask for another pan and we did get a bigger one which was new and that was appreciated.
We were given an upgraded lodge from our 2 Bed pet friendly to a 3 Bed Pet friendly. Nice big lodge lots of space. We were staying at Lodge 14
Downsides: 1. Wifi is practically non existence there wifi seems to be only at the barn so unless you are staying right beside it forget about using the WiFi we ended up using our mobile hot-spot which ran through our data to use the smart TV for Netflix etc. 2. Beds are tiny I would class them as a small double even tho there is definitely enough space for king in all the rooms. 3. Having the hot tub was great, downside to that at night it's pitch black and there is no light at the side of the lodge to see where your going. All other lodges we seen had lights at the side for the hot tubs. 4. Massive big windows to the front which is great for natural light but no curtains so at night when your watching TV,cooking dinner etc everyone can see right in and in the morning the sun beams in so it's quite hard to watch the T.V with a glare.
All in all we should of just stuck to our original lodge.
Advertising the lodges as having wifi is a bit of a cope out as roughly only about 5 lodges would actually get a signal that are in close proximity to the barn even then i dont know of they had good signals, maybe they need to invest in starlink or give each lodge there own router.

Hi all, Silverwood is a new resort and still developing, as we are so close to perth & dundee just 10 min there are so many family attractions locally that really most families spend their time out and about doing things and just return in the evening. there is a short walk to the village play park and facilities or for adults the winery with tours and families can also walk to the polo pitch in the summer to watch the horses. life does not have to be lived at 100 mph just sit back and relax.
"Come prepared by bringing your own food. You can travel to Perth in around 15 minutes or nearby Errol but there's days the chips open is closed and local pub is quite small"
There are more places to choose from in the Errol area.
