We were given a warm welcome to a nice sized room with a very good breakfast. No lock on the room which freaked me out, as there was no lock on the door to the B&B either. Corfe Mullen is a very quiet area, so I guess the crime rate is very low!
This is a family run B&B with the personal touch, which is ideal for the early morning commute to Poole as you can miss most of the traffic. The comprehensive breakfast though not cooked will set you up for the day.
We stayed at Bow Cottage last night. The B&B was clean and charmingly decorated. The room was well appointed ( they had even put the twin beds together as a double as we had requested ) The Continental breakfast was more than enough, and the fresh fruit salad was delightfully tasty. Janet was an attentive but not intrusive hostess. Nothing was too much trouble. The price was more than reasonable. The only downside was the shared bathroom.
Had a one night stay here after driving my grandad down, I've never stayed in a b&b before so was quite worried but it's lovely. Janet greeted us as we got out of the car and was nothing but friendly and warm, she took us up to our room asked about breakfast etc and had a general chat, it felt like catching up with family! We stayed in a double room which had an ensuite but the twin rooms don't (there is a shared bathroom upstairs and another downstairs.) the room was very comfortable and towels were provided, breakfast was very nice and Janet was happy to make more if you wanted it. I would definitely recommend:)
Whilst I spent part of my childhood in Poole I seldom get back but earlier this year i had business in Corfe Mullin and was recommended Bow Cottage by the local company as being an excellent place to stay. I did not have a car available to me that week so I traveled down to Poole and then caught the bus which stops directly outside the Cottage. The owner, Janet, bid me welcome and showed me to my room which overlooked the enormous garden with Carp pool what a treat I could have spent the rest of the day admiring the view but work got in the way:-( I returned that evening having dined at the Local County arms pub to my comfy room and a short watch of TV and a good nights rest. For a first night in a strange bed (you know that feeling if you travel as much as I do ) I slept exceptionally well to be woken by the local birdlife's dawn chorus ( double glazed windows were open I might add just in case you want to lie in :-) Having a shower and prepared my self I went down for breakfast. Oh boy what a spread something for every taste. Janet was very attentive as to my needs (I like well toasted bread almost burnt ) and the coffee was great with Honey (produce of the bee hives at the far end of the garden almost a100 yards away if your of the nervous disposition type ) My stay for 3 days was over way too soon . I will be returning with my wife later in the year to celebrate our anniversary and look forward to another great stay with Janet.…
