We went to this place. We booked our own vehicle at great extra cost, as we wanted to make the most of the photographic opportunities. The weather was not great, not the establishments fault of course. The guide clearly had no idea about photography and comments like "there's a branch in front of subject" did nothing whatsoever. we did see... More

Excellent accommodation in authentic safari tents, warm welcome & farewell from the friendly staff, traditional entertaining in the evenings around the fireplace, very good food, great guides on the game drives, only 10 cars a day in the whole park, relaxed animal watching with just a few people ;-)), a "must-go" when you travel South Africa individually.

We love it. We last visited Tembe 6 years ago and so were surprised by the amount of investment that’s taken place in the camp. Our tent (No. 3) was spacious, with lots of storage space and a wonderful outside shower (no bath, not bothered). We had two extremely large beds, but used only one. No. 3 is one of... More

A jewel with outstanding customer orientated service. What a change, staff who really cared about their guests in a really great venue. Our guide Khula on the game drives had a great sense of humor and an excellent knowledge of the environment with a birding eye and ear second to none. Constantly in contact with other guides to ensure the... More

This was one of three game parks we visited on our first trip to South Africa and it was exceptional in every way. We loved the accommodations - we felt we were sleeping in the bush but with all of the comforts of home. The outdoor shower was great and we enjoyed watching animals while sitting in front of our... We spent 3 awesome nights in Tembe. The accommodation was well appointed and the outdoor shower was the highlight. Carlos our guide was very knowledgeable and an excellent spotter. The behind the scene staff made sure our stay was very comfortable. Thanks to all. Elephants galore, we found them at every turn, no wonder the place is called Tembe Elephant... More

Went here with a couple of old friends for 2 nights. It was my first time visiting an African country and so I had no expectations, I just took it as it was, and it was fantastic! The staff running the place were really helpful and make you feel really welcome (Ayanda especially), the food is amazing considering you're out... More

Tembe Elephant Park has everything you could wish for in a bush experience and at an affordable price. The accommodation is in luxury en suite tents, scattered in the bush around the fenced camp, so you are not on top of anyone else. The staff are amazing. Tom the camp manager is available throughout the day to make sure your... More
