Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Want an experience in the middle of Duoro's vineyards? Then this is the right place. It is located in a remote town near the Duoro river. This is the place where you can retreat and appreciate rural life in the area. The attention is great and the breakfast superb. An unforgettable experience!

We spent 3 days/night in august 2021 at Outros Tempos. I had read very good reviews and they were no lies: we had a wonderful time in this bed-and-breakfast. The hospitality of our hosts is -very- difficult to beat. We were warmly welcomed the evening we arrived by Amilcar who showed us our room and by his wife who offered us a glass of port wine and cakes. We were pampered every morning with a gorgious breakfast: up to five different home-made cakes (baked early in the morning by our hostess) and more than 10 home-made marmelades were waiting for the guests. The room we had was spacious, with very good commodities in the bath-room and warm, old, cosy furnitures that bring you back at your grans-parents house. A not-to-be-missed place! Un grand merci, muito obrigada, a big thanks to our hosts!

We found - albeit with a bit of hunting - this delightful inn situated up in the hills above the Douro River valley. The inn is in fact a set of four old stone houses. Our hosts, the Cepedas, provided an excellent dinner for us and the other guests, and a delicious breakfast before our departure. They kindly gave us a jar of the homemade preserves that we had praised. We would have stayed longer, but the frontiers were about to close in response to CoVid-19.

This property has nine residences that have been modernized very nicely, yet retain the feel of the old world from which they came. It is located in a rural setting and you can walk around in the orchards and vineyards as if it were a hundred years ago. The owners are extemely accomodating and make you feel like family from the moment you walk in the door. And you must opt in for the group breakfasts and dinners. We met many folks from all over and and had a fabulous time. The hosts keep bringing on the food trays and make sure to keep your wine glass full. Dinners here may well have been the highlight of our two week tour of Portugal. We felt sad to leave, but upon checkout, we were presented with a complimentary bottle of the owner's own home-made port wine, which we carried back to the U.S. and shared with our family. You must visit here. You won't want to leave.

Beautiful location with incredible views of the mountainous vineyards. The rooms we had were in a very old building which had been sympathetically modernised, and the owners were amazingly hospitable. The breakfast was delicious.

Outros tempos is an authentic experience. IT is truly unique. Having the chance to wander the streets of 400 year old homes, and actually sleep in a renovated building with so much history should not be missed. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and served fresh cake and Porto. You have the option of having a diner (supper) at a huge table with other guest. DON'T miss it. It was an awesome experience. The food just get on coming. Everything. was just so good. I cannot say enough about it. Also the chance to discuss with other guests... The breakfast is included, they have heat/AC in all buildings. Everything is very clean, the windows are sparkling.. The beds were comfy.. WE needed a GPS to find it. IT is a winding road, and just the views are breathtaking. We made lifelong memories.. GO and enjoy.. take a return to the past.. You won't regret it.....

Nestled in a small stone village in the Duoro Valley it was an incredible find. Gracious hosts, wonderful food, port and accommodations. The lady of the house was a lovely woman full of grace and charm. When she cooks, she cooks! There is no shortage of delicious food. At dinner, the appetizers alone would be a meal and then the real meal arrived! 10 desserts and Port capped off the meal. Distressed that we did not tell her we were vegetarians she went out of her way to provide us with even more food! Our room was spacious, had air conditioning and a very modern bathroom and a balcony that overlooked the small village. In the morning, we skipped breakfast, we were still full from the previous night's dinner but we could again see a generous choice of options. When we left, feeling more like family than strangers, she gave us pear and apple homemade jam as a parting gift. Delightful in every way and a true authentic Douro village and home.

We were 2 couples and had 3 days exploring the beautiful city of Porto. It was time to chill, and we hit on the right spot.....Outros Tempos in Aricera. The village has a population of approx 150 and Outros Tempos is the only commercial operation............apart from the business of producing peaches, apples, nectarines and of course wine. Accommodation is divided between the main building and another set of buildings about 100m away. The pool is located here and meals are taken at a long table in the main building where you`ll engage with other visitors. Food is excellent and reasonably priced. Our accommodation was a 2 bed apartment, which was a cleverly and tastefully restored old building on 2 levels. We had a kitchen and separate living room. It was well equipped. Roads in the area are narrow, and twist up and down through the hills and the village is close to Pinhao and Regua. Armamar is a lovely small market town and is only about 7-8 mins away. It was too hot for walking during our stay, but there were lots of paths and quiet roads nearby suitable for such.

Beautiful old houses, run by a lovely family. There is a nice pool near one of the houses, still close to the other one (2 minutes walk). The rooms are beautifully decorated as is the whole house. But most important is the amazing hospitality of the owners; we felt part of one big family. The food is AMAZING. Best we had in Portugal, so fresh and so much to choose from. Totally recommended. Great place to relax and explore the Douro area.
