Five night stay in yhe Mega pod, which is the mid-range, smaller than lodges but bigger then standard pods. Overall, excellent stay, great area and good hospitality with friendly staff and spotless pods, which are well laid out with all essentials and everything you need for a great experiance. Likes: The online pub & restaurant are great with good five star food and drinks, if cycling is your thing the bike rental looks amazing with high quality bikes (didn't use ourselves) also grounds are well maintained, secure and well lit at night, with stunning scenery and location. Great WiFi and Digital TV even in the furthest pods from reception and the fridge also had a good size freezer section for ice packs. Central heating is very efficient and ample bedding for chilly nights. Also best of all, dogs are catered for but still cleaned to perfection and no dig hair or smells with high standard of cleaning. Great outside space with decks and furniture and well kept grass area for kids or picnics. Dislikes: Lack of communication when booking, no confirmation emails etc, also the pre-visit call was when we were already on the way, to tell us things we needed to know before we arrived. a few small things needed for a longer stay: Only two coathangers and no hooks around for coats or other clothing, no hooks in the shower room as well. The barbecue utensils were cheap and near useless despite asking us to cook.outdoors in the rules, so bring your own. Hot tub has been converted to heat pump instead of log burner, which means it doesn't get any hotter than 37oC, so not really a hot tub, more a body warmer. This conversion means no external heating to sit out by the burner on chilly nights, with open fires also not allowed. So out of summer no way to keep warm outside, even in the hot/warm tub. Overall the good far outweighed the bad, so we woukd stay again as it offers good value for money.…
booked for early 2020 back in 2019, obviously it was postponed due to covid when they had to lock down, upon reopening i have tried to contact them several times to rebook and have been ignored on every occasion, i paid for two nights for two people with stake dinners, what a waste of money
Amazing location, pods were exceptional yet huge disappointment related to the service in the restaurant, waiting 20 minutes to order a drink we would understand if the restaurant was busy but it was quiet and the staff seemed laid back and far from attentive. We felt neglected it was my birthday my order was wrong, ordered a medium rare steak came rare ordered dauphinois potatoes chips came, ordered peppercorn sauce and it didn’t arrive until asked for I feel that we were pushed to leave the restaurant as we were given the bill without asking for it. I asked for a drink it didn’t arrive to the table, at this point when I had ordered my meal and everything was wrong I’d given up to even say anything. general manager was lovely! Unsure of his name very attentive. Really nice guy but the level of service from other staff really let the place down.…
We have just come home from a 2 day break here in a mega pod and absolutely loved it. Staff very friendly upon arrival, with hot tub warm and ready to get in. The pod was nice and warm, very clean and had everything you need. We will definitely come back soon for another stay, and for longer, as we didn't want to leave. Thank you!
Me and my boyfriend had the best stay so far. We will definitely go back again. We stayed at one of the mega pods which was very clean and exactly as shown on pictures. Highly recommended. Carding Mill valley is worth visiting for those who like walks. Very beautiful place.
We have enjoyed short breaks here for a few years now, including a NYE with friends. Everything you need is supplied and the added bonus of the attached Station Restaurant/pub makes it the perfect location to relax & enjoy superb food. The staff will go out of their way to ensure your stay is 5*
I treated my husband to a few days away here for his 50th the beginning of December. We had a bloody awesome stay. As with reading previous reviews before we came, I would like to point out what I would have liked to have known before coming here during winter. Yes, the fire takes £1 coins to get it going. However, the thermostat on the heating goes up to 30° so you don't even need it. The hot tub is lovely. No matter what size you are ladies.. wear a bikini. Whilst drinking... my swim suit was a pain going to the loo regular. (Ffp.. first fatal p*ss). BBQ is actually a cadac, which in the winter, it's even better that a grill. Much easier to cook bacon and sausages on. Alas, it is still flippin freezing, so my top tip is.. inside, the kitckenette there's a microwave, a small fridge, a toaster, and two gas hobs. Saucepans are provided, but, what we could have really done with, is a griddle pan. I own two, so would suggest you bring one with you, to save cooking in the cold. The kettle is not electric, it boils on the hob, so make your brew before cooking. My hubby found that out the hard way. 🤣 Also, bring a washing up sponge. A cloth is provided, but not good for washing up greesey pans. Take flip flops. Ideal for running in to the loo. Dog friendly, but no walks near the venue. However, Church Stretton isn't far away, and rectory woods is supposed to be fab. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and can't wait to go back. 5 stars from me.…
We stayed in a mega pod which was more spacious than we were expecting. Towels were provided, hot tub was warm and ready to go, bathroom was clean, tea/coffee/milk on arrival although could have done with a few more sachets, we had to go to a shop and buy more. No shop on site but church stretton is about a 10 minute drive away with some lovely shops and walks. Friendly helpful staff and a very good meal at the on site restaurant. Overall would recommend!
This trip was a groupon voucher from xmas 2020 so postponed somewhat but there was no problem We are not campers and we had a pod which is basically a wooden hut with carpet an electric heater and two plug sockets thats it. As said we not campers so we didn't really know what to expect however it was ok. We borrowed a inflatable bed grabbed a kettle and couple of fold up chairs and did it. We survived. We didn't have to put up with the outdoors unless we chose to, we had roof over our head and it didn't rain. The loos and shower were about 15 steps down but clean . There are no facilities like shop so if needed would have to bring your own however no cooking but they do allow bbq. We ate at the pub on site and the food was lovely all freshly prepared and freshly cooked. The steak was the best we've had in long time. Overall good if you like the camping /glamping life.…
What a perfect weekend ! We stayed in mega pod 2 with hot tub- booked for boyfriends birthday Everything went smoothly, checked in at the pub at 4pm where staff were very welcoming Given key safe code, hot tub was warm and waiting to go. Bbq, fridge, bathroom, tv etc all working fine and bed was comfy We took towels / hair dryer as wasn’t sure if these were provided but they were. Good to have extras for hot tub Close to Shrewsbury which is lovely to visit and a lot of public footpaths for long walks On site bike hire was not available when we stayed- we were told this was because of the pandemic delays / replenishing the stock but was informed there was another company 10-15 mins away Station inn pub nearby very nice for a few drinks or full evening meal Would recommend staying here, we might level up to the lodge next time !…
