Have stopped many times previously at Claireview picnic ground but this time decided to stay at the Caravan Park overnight. Although traveling in a camper van we chose to stay in a cabin. How delightfully clean & refreshing it was. Had a meal in the...More
Absolutely fantastic environment. Not 5 star but definitely 1st class for friendliness, food, clean amenities. Fishing if you need it, but the beer battered barra is better.Owners very friendly and accomodating. Sunrises are beautiful.Excellent for families.
The camp-site has the usual amenities that you should expect from a site, but it is a really remote place. Seventy eight kms from a supermarket. If you are staying go provided, although a few basic items are available from the site shop.Fuel up before...More
Sitting on the beach this caravan park has truly magnificent ocean views. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We were lucky to have interesting international tourists as neighbours, so it was nice to have a glass of wine with them, watching rising moon.

I'm not aware of any dugong tours. I'd advise calling the owners of the caravan park and asking them any questions you may have as the park seems be the only shop/eatery in clairview. You may be lucky and spot one from the beach. I've seen one from the beach north of cairns once.
I just drove in and booked when I arrived. It is a very large park with plenty of both powered and unpowered sites. I really don't think u would have any problems just arriving on the day u wanted to stay and get a site.
