Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at the Ann Bean to celebrate our 32nd Anniversary. It was a delightful surprise. We really enjoyed our beautiful clean room, rich history of the home and the delicious breakfast. Maybe one of the best breakfasts we ever experienced. We found out during our visit that the Ann Bean is the only B & B in Stillwater that serves breakfasts. The other B& B’s provide a voucher to a local restaurant. We loved staying in the Tower room to enjoy our breakfast. It was like a retreat with a room on fourth floor that overlooks Stillwater. The jacuzzi and shower were so delightful that it was hard to get out. Thanks so much for this additional memory to add to our “favorite” anniversary trips.

Stayed in Ann & Albert's room on 2nd floor, immaculately clean, and very comfortable K bed. The only downsides to our room were dim lighting and a lumpy Victorian sofa and chair. The main living room is a veritable museum of original Bean family furniture, photographs, memorabilia, and grand piano (which you're allowed to play). The friendly inn hostess is quite proud of the history of the house and it's well-preserved woodwork and built-in cabinetry. She gives guests an interesting tour. An outstanding breakfast finishes with the best creme brulee I've ever had. The B&B owner sat with us at breakfast and thoroughly entertained us with his knowledge about the house and the town of Stillwater. Stillwater is a delightful town with plenty of good restaurants, lots of pedestrian traffic, a lovely river walk, and the fun lift bridge. The Ann Bean Mansion is way up the hill, high above the town & river, requiring either a serious hike or a car to get to the town. On street parking in town was no problem.

Most comfortable beds, pillows are so nice. This is the only B&B in Stillwater that severs breakfast, fresh made every morning, aa different meal every day. We always have ours in our room. Innkeepers are absolutely great... I'll update later with more pictures.

A wonderful escape for us again! We have been here at least 7 or 8 times over the years. Each time we visit, we never want to leave because they do such an awesome job of making us feel spoiled and providing that escape we always need. The rooms are beautiful; the breakfasts are delicious!

We just returned home from a wonderfully romantic and relaxing visit to celebrate our anniversary at the Ann Bean Mansion B&B. All rooms are beautifully decorated and we would be happy staying in any one of them. Each room is unique but filled with thoughtful touches. The beds are super comfy, nice big soaking tubs and love the fireplaces! The breakfast was delicious and quite filling ... we had absolutely no need for lunch. There has been a change in ownership since our last stay but the new owner and staff are maintaining the high standard of excellence that the inn is known for. We especially want to thank Patty and Bea who were so gracious and welcoming. We appreciated their thoughtfulness! P.S.: The Christmas decorations are gorgeous ... trees with lights and ornaments in the living room and every bedroom.

Jeremy and Erin, previous owners, set the gold standard for gracious B&B stays. Current owner, Brian, and manager, Patty ("My dream job!"), are determined not only to maintain but build on that standard. Our first stay, last year during January, made our 50th wedding anniversary special indeed. Our second, a week ago, furthered our delight in this grand old house. Staff (Randee) welcomed us as if we were arriving back home. We have a new favorite room (Cynthia's; though we loved Ann and Albert's) and appreciated the upgraded electronic outlets in each room. Now: how can you compare huddling before a cozy fire in January against reading in the early morning spring breeze on the front porch ... wine against coffee? Clearly we need to book our next stay in the fall. Lovely.

We had never stayed at a bed & breakfast before and were looking for a relaxing night getaway from the Twin Cities. We found the Ann Bean Mansion and had a perfect stay- Jeremy the Inn Keeper was delightful and welcomed us to our room and gave us complimentary local beers. We stayed in the "Hersey" room with a beautiful 4 poster bed, fire place, love seat, soaking tub, and double shower. The room had some holiday decorations up and was beautiful and cozy. Breakfast was delivered to our room the next morning; homeade quiche, cranberry breadpudding, yogurt pear granola, orange juice, and coffee. We picked up a pair of the coffee cups that are made by a local potter and use all solar power in the process! I anticipate we will be back to try another room in the future!

My wife and I stayed at the Ann Bean Mansion with the recommendation of family and it was the best thing ever. We especially loved our stay in the Heresy room. Breakfast is a gourmet three course meal delivered right outside your door. The character and charm of this house is out of this world; pictures don't do it justice. It is convenient walk to the main street of Stillwater. We can't wait to come back!
