It is really a nice island with lush green vegetation thick jungle and long white beach. It is a paradise which provides peace and calmness. We really enjoyed the beauty of nature there.

'Dharavandhoo-Stay' is a very beautiful island guest house with luxury stay. It is an amazing and far better experience compared with expensive resorts that I stayed before in Maldives.
My wife and I travelled to Dharavandhoo for our Holiday at the end of March 2014. We started from Male to Dharavandhoo by Speed boat and took around 2.5 hours to reach there which costs around USD50 for one way. Return by domestic flight from the same Island to Male takes only 20 min and we got a cheap fare arranged by Mr. Adam, who runs the guest house.

We spent 5 days there, rooms of 'Dharavandhoo-Stay' is perfect and luxury. Very comfortable soft white bed, nice big bathroom. Service was perfect, staff - very kind and helpful. Daily trips are in pre-scheduled and prompt.

We needed a relaxing vacation and we got it. The island was pretty quiet, nice beach, white sand, amazing blue sea! Food is tasty, good international cuisine and we can choose the menu and order as per our own taste and also its very cheap.

We also were surprised by the people of this island. Everybody is so friendly and good, we were either walking or riding bicycles every evening to the nearby shops and talking with local people, who were really nice! Island have few shops with food and drinks with a lot of souvenir shops.

We also enjoyed many adventures trips and excursions arranged by Mr. Adam for an affordable price, Sandbank is a thrilling place where we went by boat, It's a small island, when we reach we got so many fresh fish and we snorkelling around sandbank. Visiting uninhabited Island is a great experience. We also visited nearby islands and enjoyed local life style.
Snorkelling around the Dharavandhoo is amazing and can see beautiful corals and plenty of colorful fishes. We went morning and night fishing and taste the different varieties of fish by sea side barbeque in the nights. we had seen Dolphins during our fishing trips. Guide also showed us Hanifaru-Bay by Dolly boat which takes 10min ride, it's a Marine Protected Area biosphere by UNESCO where whale sharks and manta rays meet seasonally.
We also visited KIHAAD resort next to Dharavandhoo and we enjoyed night life in resort and had dinner with liquor which is prohibited in Dharavandhoo.

Dharavandhoo island has a Govt. Health Centre, Medical stores, travel agency, Size of island is 1.5 km length and 1 km width. Harbour is just 100m away. Also the is island very colourful. the north part of the island still kept its original palm forest island, and we had walk around like adventure trip. Island and people are calm and quiet. Everybody was so friendly.

Overall I would strongly recommend this Guest house to my friends! Our vacation was perfect and very relaxing! I will surely come back to Dharavandhoo with my kids on next vacation and many thanks to Mr. Adam for his kind heartedness.

We spent a week in Dharavandhoo stay and it was a pleasant stay indeed. Breakfast when you need it, quiet place at all and surprisingly clean rooms. Beach is app 150m away from the hotel and is empty through all day for you. Great place to get in touch with diving center either on Kihaad island (app 3km away) or Kethi Lodge on the opposite side of the island (directly on Dharavandhoo). Restaurant where you can have something to eat is around 300m far from the stay and shop is somewhere on the halfway to the restaurant. We were surprised the prices are NOT astonishingly high. It is a good place with a high chance of seeing manta rays really nearby!

I was there for 2 days, just because airport is on that island. But this is a great place to have an affordable holiday with Maldives experience. Went out for a swim and snorkeling. I was told to come on Manta season. There is very famous manta point located near dharavandhoo called Hanifaru.
If you are looking of an affordable and escape from crowd this is an ideal location

We spent 10 nights in Nov/Dec 2015 in this guesthouse . It was a pleasant experience and we felt us like at home . Adam and Elyas did everything from the first moment to please us .
I am sure you`ll get the most bang for the buck staying in this place . The room is simple but with A/C and free WIFI ....I dont need more as I try to be outside as much as possible . The beach is just a few steps away and the housereef is interesting enough for snorkeling . You can book additional excursions, the host will take care of everything . Sandbank and resort visit diving or fishing you name it ! :-))
From June to November there is a good chance to swim with mantas in the near Hanifaru bay natural reservate .
The agency running the guesthouse takes care about your transport and pick you up at the airport so you should contact them after the booking .
The food was simple and good! They are flexible so don`t be shy to express your wishes . We decided to eat "Maldivian breakfast " which was very delicious ...also wanted to eat fish so they prepared us always something fresh .
We were travelling with a 1 year old baby and even that was not a problem !!! The maldivians love kids and our son felt himself great there !!! We want to go back again !

Booked the 4 night accommodation + snorkelling trip + fishing trip + 5 Star resort day visit package and it didn't disappoint. While only a 20 minute domestic flight from Male, once you step off the plane, you're on a little island where there is still a sense of laid back local life.

Snorkelling: Swam around in the most breathtaking coral garden teeming with life with a local guide in crystal clear waters, where sea turtles would casually glide past.

Fishing: Apparently it was a tad tricky day to fish but even then we caught enough for a barbeque dinner and more.

5-Star resort visit: It was good to get some cocktails but you realise how hermetic the resort environment is. Sad to see the fragile coral of the house reef be trampled by uncaring guests. If you don't venture out, you may not know what healthy Maldivian coral looks like and how to responsibly enjoy the experience.
The rooms itself are comfortable and adequate. The island has a bikini beach at one end of the island where there are big trees, making it surprisingly cool.
Breakfast was usually toast, sausages, egg and condiments (if you're feeling adventurous, request a Maldivian breakfast. It's a coconut tuna salad with chappati bread - addictive!)

Dinner was different every day but always included a fish dish - the local specialty.

Adam, the host was always happpy to tell us more about Maldives and worked wonders for us - we requested Moringa (Muranga) one day and he managed to serve it up for dinner.

If you are someone who needs luxury, just wants to be whisked to a resort, thinks that beaches should be cleared every day of debris for you and only want sand and water, this may not be the place for you. If you can do without the bells and whistles, want to see the local perspective, enjoy a nice beach and visit the same snorkel points as the 5-star resorts for a fraction of a price, go to Dharavandhoo Stay.

We stayed at Dharavandhoo stay last August 2015. It was a great experience of local life and hospitality. Mr Adam is very accommodating with our requests and Sadam his assistant cooks nice Maldivian breakfast. The island is very calm and quiet too. The public beach is seems like private as we stayed there almost everyday and have it all to ourselves. I may not see the Manta Rays in the ocean.. but i saw some by the beach!
We also had a chance to cook for Mr Adam our Filipino Dish - Adobo and cooked some crabs with coconut milk (that we caught the night before). We recommend this place to everyone who asked where we stayed in Maldives. Thank you Mr Adam and Sadam.

I've chosen this island, Dharavandhoo, because of Hanifaru Bay. This guest houses provided me with the cheapest rate for this excursion. Plus i've got a very tasty food and big rooms. The owner, Adma, helped me with all my requests. Way back I made with domestic plane. Fantastic views were opened to my eyes. Highly recommend!
