We wanted a place not far from home (1 hour) for a quick couple of days to get away. Our friends had stayed here before and recommended it to us. There are not many reviews so I really didn't know what to expect. (Especially about a wedding experience but hey, we weren't having a wedding.) We stayed in the main...

The good, the bad, and then the truly ugly. My daughter's wedding was held at Castle Hill in April of this year (2016). The GOOD: The venue was amazing, the food was truly scrumptious. The BAD: the wedding coordinator is really the chef. The food is scrumptious, the wedding coordination is bad. ...And now the UGLY. During the wedding ceremony...

My son and I were visiting Ole Miss and looked at Castle Hill. I was a little wary after reading some negative reviews. I took the time to call and Jean, the owner, helped put me at ease. I am glad I didn't make my decision based on only negative reviews. First, Castle Hill is beautiful. The rooms were spacious...

I am a well traveled individual and have never had an experience such as the Castle Hill. Rather than enumerate what was wrong just read reviews and believe what is written. I , being a seasoned traveler didn't follow this advise. I went with the photo's and description on the web site. I especially fell for the authentic southern breakfast....

Even though the hotel is under construction and even though we were the only guests we unloaded and changed clothes for our evening event. Upon our return around ten pm we found no exterior lights and no unlocked doors! We were forced to find another hotel for the night, leaving all our belongings in our Castle Hell room. Returning the...

We were the only guests: put into a room other than the one we reserved a supposed 'upgrade' to what the owner suggested was their ' nicest' room - but far from nice at all. It was far more stark than the photos online. It looked as though the place was out of business. The pool wasn't opened because he...

Thoroughly enjoyed a one night stay in Oxford at Castle Hill. Grounds are pretty, room was very nice, the breakfast was excellent. Overall a very good property. Will certainly consider next time we are headed that way.

My husband and I stayed in Peggy's Room at Castle Hill and were very pleased with our experience. The owners were on site and were there to make sure our experience was a good one. We had a hot breakfast provided for two of our days ~ I think as long as there is communication about what the expectations are,...

Beautiful property and facilities. Guest house is not recommended. Specifically, Dixie Room is not recommended. Room is directly above owners living area. My husband and I were awakened to what sounded like furniture being moved at 5:00 a.m. followed by the owner's television (downstairs) around 6:00 a.m. No sleep! Was exhausted and had a difficult time enjoying my day because...

So I arrive and photograph the exterior architecture, enter the place. It is freezing cold. An unkempt lady eventually emerges with a cane and says the owners are not in town. She cannot find my reservation but it is written down somewhere in pencil on the tacky bar. I ask to see the room. It is tiny, cold, and there...
