Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent three nights here. What a find! Chosen partly for the views and outside space, which didn’t disappoint. (Blessed with dry weather). Milly and the team were all great. Professional, courteous and attentive. We dined in every night, as the food was delicious. Probably the best Moules I have ever had (and I’ve had a few!) and the Pork Tomahawk steak was delicious. We loved the charm of the building itself, lots of character. A great spot to explore the local area, away from the hustle of the busier main roads.

Went for a lovely meal with family. The service was first class and they were very friendly. I had the plaice which was one of the specials and the scotch egg to start both were delicious. Plus it is in a lovely setting definitely will go back again.

Food was lovely but the best part of our stay and who made our visit really special was Lucas who first of all welcomed us to the venue and then served us for our 2 night stay. Great wine knowledge and was great fun giving us some challenging puzzles to work out … also met Loki the wolf dog how fabulous just loved them ..,thank you for making our trip memorable xxx

Perfect hotel to get away from it all with a beach and cliff walks just a few minutes walk away. The famous Chisel Beach can be reached by turning left as you get to the beach just down the road from the hotel. The hotel staff are all lovely and Millie the manager works really hard to ensure everything is perfect. I was there over the busy Easter weekend and everyone was looked after so well. I booked a king sized room with sea view and it was wonderful to wake up to the beautiful view and birdsong each morning. The bed was very comfortable, the sheets are crisp, white and soft and the towels are fluffy. The shower was powerful! I didn’t eat in the hotel as I was visiting friends, apart from breakfast each day which was excellent with a great choice. I have stayed here a number of times a few years ago and over 20 years ago, the location has always been perfect but Millie and her team have made a great hotel in to an excellent place to stay. I can’t wait to come back.

Well, where do I start?! - Great location overlooking the sea and only 5 minutes walk to the beach - Amazing service from the entire staff and especially Mollie and Lucas who are truly exceptional - Very good food throughout, and plenty of gluten-free and dairy free options. The staff treat dietary requirements with the utmost care, are extremely knowledgeable about how their dishes are made, and can often tweak them to accommodate special requests - Plenty of free parking The only reason this isn't five stars is because the manor is tired in some places, even in the rooms that need a bit of TLC. And it can sometimes get noisy in the rooms, but I guess this is all down to the age of the manor.

Only booked yesterday and so glad we did. The Sunday roast was exceptional. There was a fabulous choice, but if you are going on a Sunday I would absolutely recommend the roast dinner. It was amazing. One of the best I have had. Add to that the exceptional staff and great service.

My two wonderful sons treated me to a weekend away with them!!!! Lovely old Manor House with marvellous views to Chesil beach. Huge patio & pretty garden. Cosy bar, comfortable conservatory with view down to beach. Bedding crisp & spotlessly clean as were bath/ shower rooms. Some paintwork was rather tired & some of the carpets rather marked. It is dog friendly so I suppose that accounts for some of it. Staff delightful & very hard working!!!! Have recommended it to keen walker friends!

My wife and I were very lucky to find this gem of a hotel for a two-night stay. We felt very welcomed as soon as we arrived and this continued throughout. The food, both breakfast and dinner, was superb and the room (superior with a sea view) was excellent - very clean and very good value. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The hotel is well positioned to explore both east and west and is in a very quiet village, which is next to the coast. We really enjoyed our stay and would to thank Millie and Lucas for their hospitality. We would thoroughly recommend the Manor House to anybody who is looking for a short break in a lovely area.

We were made to feel very welcome, Millie and her staff were very helpful and attentive. The food was very good and the rooms clean and tidy. Our dog Arthur was also catered for and was made very welcome too. Their 3 nights for 2 offer made it very good value.

Well what a absolute gem. Arrived on the Friday and was met by Lucas and his dog Loki. We we’re welcomed like we was family. Was shown to our room which was clean and well presented. We decided to have dinner at the hotel and booked a table for 7pm. Came down from our room and was greeted with the same lovely welcome. The starters were delicious and the main’s equally as good. We finished with a cheeseboard. The service was excellent and the two lads very attentive. Breakfast in the morning was amazing with good quality ingredients. We was going to find a restaurant for our second night but decided to eat at the hotel again ! . We was not disappointed. I have been in the trade for 35 years and have been to many hotels. This is definitely the best we have been to by far. We will be back. Thank you to all the staff
