Fantastic location, accommodation and staff. Stunning location reached by light aircraft, bus and boat.. Hideaway room was spotless with ocean view. Ben, Courtney and other staff ensured that our holiday was as we wished. Food cooked by Russ was amazing. We spent our coral wedding anniversary snorkelling on the reef - out of this world!! The property is now up for sale and hopefully the new owner will continue to allow others to enjoy this paradise.

Part of our Honeymoon around the world trip. Bloomfield was just exceptional. Our room, the food, the staff and the wildlife just made it unforgettable. The rainforest tour was full of surprises. The Big Mamma trip left us feeling totally exhausted by being so excited! Remember a very good sun cream for your face......one of the girls at the lodge had to cover my face with fresh aloe vera!!

This is a great lodge. Stayed with my family which included kids. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and go out of their way to make your stay the best that it can be. It is remote and subsequently very relaxing. This is not the place for someone who wants exciting night life or lots of planned activities. Rather if you like nature, want to relax then this is great. There are many things to do but they all require being outside. Our room was excellent and had the best views. Food was excellent, they asked about special requests and the variety was superb. Overall a highlight in our 4 week stay in australia.

I really don't know where to start as my words will not do justice to what my partner and I have enjoyed over the last five days. The experience began by being collected from our hotel in Cairns, a wonderful flight in a CESSNA, followed by a short road journey and a boat ride across Weary Bay. We then arrived in paradise. We were met by Courteney, one of the Lodge's co-managers, who explained how the Lodge worked. Breakfasts, set lunch and dinners were all included, and all were of extremely high standard, created by resident chef, Russell. My partner cannot eat seafood, and an alternative was always made available. An honesty bar system is in process. Our four night stay allowed a complimentary rainforest walk and crocodile spotting river cruise. In addition we enjoyed a tour to Bloomfield Falls and Cedar Bay National Park. All tours were led by Ben, who was extremely knowledgeable and a joy to listen to. The accommodation was very comfortable and our room, 19, had glorious views over Weary Bay. We would love to return but the Lodge is currently for sale and the future uncertain. All of the staff gave us a holiday of a lifetime and we sincerely hope they are able to continue their outstanding hospitality. Bloomfield Lodge is too much of a treasure to sacrifice for other generations to enjoy.

I get why this place gets great marks - but it's not as good as you would hope. It's run down and frankly a mess. Staff seek uncaring and place is remote - you are basically trapped on the property. Rooms dated and need repair - food portions small and not worth the money - avoid .

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, however I am afraid we don’t have any record of you staying with us at Bloomfield Lodge. As we are a very small resort we get to know our guests extremely well and have no recollection of these comments from any of our guests or in the guest departure form, which specifically asks for feedback on the rooms and staff. We would encourage all guests to inform us of any issues or complaints at the time of their stay so that we have the opportunity to put these right immediately. Please could you take the time to contact us directly and let us know which room you stayed so that we can address the points you raised. We closed the Lodge for a month this February to ensure that all the rooms and main Lodge areas were in tiptop condition and run a rolling maintenance programme, so we can guarantee that the Lodge is definitely is not run down or in a mess and the rooms are not in need of repair. Please also could you provide us with more detailed information regarding the staff so that we can also look into this further, as we take great pride in our team members and the level of customer service they provide, placing great emphasis giving our guests and excellent personalised guest experience attained by warm, friendly, courtesy and thoughtful staff. We would also like to investigate further the poor impression you had of our food offering as nearly all the guest feedback is that the food portion sizes are too large and some guests request half portions. We offer food on a full board basis which is in an all inclusive cost combined with the room rate so we are unsure how you can ascertain so clearly that the food is not worth the money.
