We booked because we wanted to stay away from large all-inclusive resorts. It was a wise choice, but, there are a few buts... We experienced two different rooms during our stay here: Luna Amor and Sol 3, both of which are right on the beach. While being on the beach is good, beautiful and romantic, it's also very noisy, especially...

We have never experienced a place like Playa Escondida before, and couldn't have been happier or more blissed out. You return to yourself as well as a sense of peace and connectedness, especially thanks to the staff, so warm and caring, especially Jose. Juan and the boys at the restaurant, including Orlando, Joel, and Lalo felt like family and take...

Such a special place! This was our first time visiting this part of Mexico and we were not disappointed! I wish we would have had a few more days to soak it all in. Every day we saw whales from the beach or pool. Our last morning there we were lucky enough to see one very close to shore! The...

What a pleasant surprise Playa Escondido was! We flew down to meet with another couple who were escaping the brutal Minnesota winter and found this place to be tranquil, remote & relaxing. The staff were absolutely the best, so accommodating, and Juan mixes up a mean Mango Wango with basil, that we looked forward to each afternoon as we planted...

For those looking for peace and quiet in the form of parrots and crashing waves, this is the place to be. It's the type of "resort" that is so lovely and quaint, you'll never want to leave, which is too bad since the nearby town of Sayulita is full of fun restaurants, bars and more. That said, they make it...

We just returned from a lovely week in Sayulita and after staying 3 nights in Villa 1… we enjoyed our experience but feel the hotel has room to improve. I really think this place is 3.5 stars but I rounded up. The property is very nice… rustic and secluded on a gorgeous beach with beautiful sunsets. Our room was very...

We are very sorry your stay was less than perfect. Karina was in tears. She is the girl responsible for Villa 1 and takes a lot of pride in her rooms. Since she always checks her linens carefully she had no explanation. Occasionally bedding gets stained from sunblock, tanning creams and makeup, but we always take it out of service...

This is really just a big juicy gracias to all of you...you know who you are! Wolverine(ask Jorge) and I really miss all of you. Especially now that we are storm stayed in Toronto. Playa escondida is just breathtaking. It is peaceful and calming. Simply put, perfection. Beyond perfection. But for all its beauty it is the staff who make...

Just an amazing place, So well kept, amazing food and the friendliest staff. Stayed in Sol 1 this trip and Sol 2 the first trip a year ago. Sol 1 has a fantastic view and a great patio that you can sun and relax. This is not the Ritz but much better and rustic. The food was amazing and well...

My husband and I have returned to the States, having yet another great time in Mexico. Our first stop was at Playa Escondida. Our experience there was a "mixed" experience. So I will start out with the good/great part of our stay. The room we stayed in, Luna Penthouse, was spectacular! A spacious, well-appointed and designed room. Everything in it...

Playa Playa Escondida is a good - but definitely not great - boutique hotel. The hotel is rit on the beach and many of the rooms are as well. The rooms are super funky (and many are funky & cool) and picking the right one based on your preferences is highly recommended. Not one of them is the same or...

Playa Escondida is a work in progress, a living, evolving art form, inspired by nature and loved by most of our guests. We are far from perfect but we never stop trying. Things break and we fix them. Someone has an idea, we try it. Our staff is not professionally trained but they genuinely care about our guests and are...
