We stayed here with family, had 2 rooms in the hotel for us. This is an enchanting place. Well decorated, really comfortable. Friendly staff who try their best to make sure you feel at home. I would certainly recommend it.

This hotel has only five rooms, three of which our small group (a guide and two clients) occupied. A French couple occupied a fourth. Our tour company had booked but cancelled the fifth room three days prior to our arrival. Upon departure, we were told that the tour operator would have to pay for the fifth room, even though the...

Dear Mr. Chip G, Thanks for taking the time to send your review but your rabid comments seem to be more an expression of a vindictive resentment than an accurate review, and only because you were asked to pay for the services you had contracted as you yourself admit in your writing. Since we opened, three years ago, we have...

Right on the river and all the colonial charm in tact, the common areas are the most charming. The huge main room is a fantastic place for gathering and reading. The breakfast is so plentiful I had no need for lunch! It is very well located as you get a breeze from the river and easy access to the promenade....

Well, Mompox itself is a hot, sleepy, mesquite infested town with not much going on...therefor the Portal de Marquesa is a quite unexpected gem. It's a fancy Colonial house turned hotel. The ceilings are high, the common rooms are grand scale, it's furnished lovely and looks out the river. The staff was REALLY wonderful. They made us feel like royalty....

Although picturesque with a lot of history and the lovely Magdalena River, traveling to and from Mompos is extremely uncomfortable. Fortunately, we booked the best room in town. The suite had its own private pool, great for chilling in the mid-day heat. There's no question that you should spend a few extra pesos to have the experience of 18th century...

Portal was highly recommend by a friend who stayed there a few months ago. l was not dissapointed. Simon Bolivar, the Washington of South America stayed in Mompos several times. At Portal de la Marquesa you can live again the by-gone days of luxury in the middle of the tropics. Cool high ceiling rooms with all conveniences of a modern...

Mompox is one of the Colombia's most beautiful colonial villages. On it, the ancient spanish-native culture reborn in the roads and walls and in the colorful houses. Trough the river passes a long period of history and legends that characterizes Mompox nowadays. As a Colombian, I feel more that proud of my country for having preserved such a historical place...

The 'small' swiming pool is only for the suite (which was now in renovation). The fact that we were the only hosts in the hotel. The bath-room should be more cared for: Mompox is a humid place: so if you don't care for, then you have humid signs in the bathroom, which is not to be recommended for such a...

My wife and I stayed in the best room we have ever stayed at. And because of our jobs, we have stayed at many! We decided to book and "splurge" on the room with private pool and what a great choice that was. For less than 100 pounds we had the moat spacious and stylish room we could dream with....

Beautiful quiet place in a lovely restored colonial mansion in the heart of Mompox next to the river. Very comfortable rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast. We also enjoyed the company of the beautiful cat Don Catalino, Marqués de los Portales, caballero de Mompox, who has a very fine voice...
