My wife and I stayed 2 nights at the cottage and my review is a mixed one. For history, memories, ambiance and quietness I would give 5 stars. For reasons of cleanliness I would give 3 stars. This is because when we checked in there were cobwebs in a couple of rooms and the place was quite musty, with dust gathering here and there. Almost like it hadn't been aired for a while. Having said that everything you want is there, with some trimmings such as bread, milk, eggs, Port and some chocolates. Fire wood was provided and the fire place set up as well ready to light.
All kitchen needs were there including some alfoil and gladwrap. Once moved in, there is nothing you will need. It even has a washing machine. Sitting by the fire pouring a port and then reading the history of the cottage was brilliant. We really enjoyed out stay and I have no hesitation in recommending the cottage to others. Its a great getaway place.

9 nights in Tasmania 3 different self contained properties and ONE truly shinning star.
Geraldine cottage was streets ahead of the others and oddly enough the cheapest by far, we wish we had stayed the whole 9 nights. The attention to detail the inclusions the level of comfort was faultless we cannot recommend this property highly enough.

Stayed at Geraldine cottage, with same owner at the moment as laurel cottages - for sale sign in front.
Arrived in the afternoon for a wander around. Everything just worked as required. A bit of a suburban street, but everything in Richmond is walking distance.

Stayed here with mother and friend for one night. Set in lovely garden setting this is an historic cottage. It has two bedrooms, the second with twin beds. Separate lounge room with log fire. Only issue is that to use the bathroom and the toilet you need to go through the main bedroom which was awkward for the person sleeping in main bedroom. Kitchen is accessed through main bedroom or by going outside on verandah and entering through the back door.

This is a living history experience offering home comforts, provided by a most congenial hostess. The period décor includes books and DVDs and extra lighting. The 1800's renovated cottage is in an ideal location, close to Richmond Bridge and the village of shops, cafes, pub and historic attractions. Set in pretty gardens the cottage has two bedrooms but the only bathroom is ensuite to the main bedroom so the property would be best suited to a couple, solo or a family without toddlers. We look forward to staying again.

This is a prefect place to base yourself to stay while you are visiting and exploring South Eastern Tassie. It's a wonderful convict built two bedroom cottage that has been lovingly restored. There is lots of interesting brick-a-brac nboth inside and out that makes staying here a truly wonderful experience. There is a full kitchen where you have a big variety for breakfast. There was complimentary port and chocolates to have while you sit and gazed at the fire. The cottage itself is less than 100m from the famous Richmond Bridge.

My husband and I thought this place was just beautiful. Set in an attractive garden (even out of season), this gorgeous looking cottage is fitted out to make you feel as if you've entered another world, while being very comfortable with lovely beds, electric blanket, lovely bedding and all the other things you need. We would absolutely recommend this lovely place. Julie was helpful and welcoming, the house is well warmed with electric and wood heating.

Laurel Cottage is conveniently located close to the famous Richmond Bridge within walking distance of the town. Lovely, comfortable, spacious, well-equipped little cottage. Kitchen has everything you would need. Cosy family room with fireplace, complete with a selection of DVDs. Comfortable beds with electric blankets. Plenty of space for a family. Perfect home away from home.
