We arrived very late in the evening and this was a last minute booking. Vianne our host meet us with a welcome smile despite being 1030pm. She had turned the heater on in the cottage and left a packet of Tim Tams.
We ended up staying 2 nights and would recommend Vianne and her B &B to anyone

What a lovely surprise, could not fault this accomodation. We took the villa as there were 4 of us. Spotless, everything we needed, plus more. Lovely garden away from the main drag, so quiet. It was situated on the main road, but you would think you were far away from civilisation. We spent only 2 nights as it was to avoid drinking and driving. We were attending a gin tasting at newly opened Killara distillery. Our B&B host acted as taxi. What a great way to know you can enjoy an event, and not having to worry about transport. So all in all a great stay, great accomodation, great gin in good company

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the 2 bedroom cottage. Lovely warm, and welcoming, after a long day on the road.

Well equipped, clean, and comfy. The free wifi was an unexpected bonus.

Walking distance to all the attractions in Richmond. I highly recommend this place.

We booked this as a family of 4 and the kids were super excited about the hot tub. As we were on our way, I received a phone call from Whatif to let us know they were cancelling the booking. I asked why and she said it was because they don't have children there. On the Whatif site it started that they were family friendly. Very disappointed.

So I called up to enquire on a few things about the red brier villa to be rudely met by an obnoxious lady on the other end of the line. I was so close to booking this place until I called to ask whether or not there was a washing machine and spa tub available and her response was short and in an uninterested tone then to top it off said 'Maybe you shouldn't stay here' then hung up. I was absolutely gob smacked by what had just happened that I had to call back and check if I had the right place however ended up listening to the voicemail of a LEANNE from the Red Brier Cottage.
So just in case anyone else has to encounter this unfortunate person you have now all been warned. Beware of this rude lady!!!

After reading all the great reviews here on TA, I thought we would book to stay here on agoda.com But we were rather disappointed so this is just an honest account.

First the good stuff.
1. Richmond is a nice country town amongst wineries, like Yarra valley or Hunter valley. Handy if you wanted to do some wine tasting. It is also a historical town with a few old structures.
2. The cottage was clean.
3. We were given some continental breakfast despite the booking saying no breakfast included.

Then the bits we felt disappointed by.
1. We requested extra bedding for a third person but had to make do with a queen and double bed.
2. Richmond is no where near Hobart! It is a good 25 min drive out of Hobart. It is written as Bridge st, Hobart on TA. I felt rather misled.
3. The cottage we had was by the main rd. It was rather noisy with traffic going past from about 5.30a.m to after 11p.m. It is not the same cottage shown on TA, agoda or their own website which had photos with corner spa and stuff. Check out the photos I'm posting here.

Overall it was not too bad, but just we had different expectations.

We recently had a single night stay in upon arrival appeared to be a quaint country cottage, furnished with cottage style furniture. The bedding and couches are ready for the local opportunity shop, well worn and very uncomfortable. The floor in some of the unit had a significant camber so take it easy at the local hotel as the sloping floor might exacerbate the hang over. The shower is situated over a large spa requiring considerable manoeuvring to get into the bath. Once in if your above 6ft tall you’ll bump your hands on the low ceiling when your trying to wash your hair. All in all it was a very convenient place to stay while visiting RICHMOND. It is certainly not a 4+ Star facility, rather an average 3

We recently stayed in the 2 storey, 2 bedroom apartment at the back of the property. It's a really modern place with the main bedroom upstairs with an ensuite bathroom (and a HUGE spa) with the second bedroom downstairs with it's own bathroom. It also has a nice little living room and a kitchenette area. It's more than big enough for 4 adults, but might be a little cramped if there were more. When we arrived we were really looking forward to relaxing in the spa, however we had a little issue with the hot water pressure which didn't allow us to fill the spa. We contacted the owner who was more than gracious enough to come out to have a look at it. As we were there on a weekend the issue wasn't able to be fixed, however she was SO apologetic and offered us a small refund for the trouble. We also had the choice of using the spa in the cottage next door the following night as it was vacant, but we chose the refund. She wasn't able to get her usual plumber out during our stay, but we understood and appreciated this. She is such a lovely lady to deal with, and was more than understanding. Other than than, we really enjoyed out stay. The bed was comfortable and was able to heat the entire apartment easily with the two split system A/Cs. The owner also gave us some suggestions on where to eat, which can be hard during the winter months as not everywhere is open. I highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to stay in Richmond!

We arrived in richmond around 5.30 to find most places fully booked. Called into red brier cottages on the off chance of staying. We were given the basic room only to find a gorgeous cottage. 2 bedrooms, lounge and breakfast provided. Lovely bathroom and decorated nicely. It was warm and inviting. We would recommend this highly
