Housed in the beautifully renovated 1930s-era Brookfield Building which held ticket offices for various train stations, the Hotel Indigo Kansas City Downtown offers a reminder of the rail lines that put this city on the map. As a nod to this 12-story tower's past, our 118 guest rooms are styled with travel-themed touches — including postcard and postmark designs in rooms — and the lobby features a train mural. You can start the day with a cup of locally-brewed Parisi coffee before heading out to must-see spots like Union Station, the Arvest Bank Theater, legendary jazz clubs and world-class restaurants just steps from the hotel.

Excellent stay at Hotel Indigo. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Free coffee and bottle water in lobby was a nice touch (no free breakfast though). My room was very large with very unique artwork and hardwood floors throughout. I really liked the tinted and

What good restaurants for dinner are close to the Hotel Indigo? Do I need a reservation for a Friday night?
The restaurants mentioned in the other answer are Jack Stack BBQ and Lidia’s (Italian). We had dinner at Lidia’s and should have made reservation but got lucky and sat at the bar. A reservation and either would be recommended

Very close. Less than 1/2 a mile, maybe a 10 minute walk.

Is this hotel near the Power and Light District?
Yes, easy walking. I walked all over for blocks and blocks ....pretty good for a 66 year old lady!
