This is our third year staying at Au Petit Bled.

If you’re travelling on the Eurotunnel, ferry or just staying around Calais you couldn’t ask for better!

Dennis and Christine are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are well decorated and spotlessly clean. They are also great with our kids.

The breakfast is amazing!! You have to see it to believe it. There are even some small but thoughtful touches in the room. Tea/coffee facilities, a large bottle of spring water, packs of tissues, proper shower gel and very comfy beds. All for a Very reasonable price!

A nice TV lounge, books, games, hand creams and loads of other stuff, not forgetting decent WiFi.

The location is lovely too, out in the countryside but only around 8 miles from the travel points in Calais.

I always recommend them to friends and family.

Our only problem is that each time we stay it is always on our return trip from the South and we always arrive late having driven for 8 hours or so. Next time we might have an extra day there to see more of the area.

Well worth a visit!! We look forward to our next trip.

We are a family of 3; myself, husband and 4 year old daughter stayed here for one night in February in the family room.
The place is faultless, couldn't have asked for more and we will definitely be returning!
The room was clean, well equipped, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The bathroom, whilst small was lovely, with an amazing shower!
What really sets Au Petit Bled apart though, are the welcoming and friendly hosts! Dennis and Christine couldn't do any more for us, and made us feel extremely welcome. The breakfast was superb, fresh and home-prepared.
My daughter (and I) fell in love with the beautiful resident cat, dog and chickens! She still talks about the cat and being allowed by the hosts to feed the chickens outside..... they made her holiday extra special.
That's not to say the animals are intrusive at all, we probably only had contact with them because we loved them!
The village of Hermelinghen is rural and small with not a lot there, however this B&B is an excellent base for exploring the beautiful surrounding area, or as a stop off on a longer journey due to its proximity to Calais ferry or eurotunnel.
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and can't wait to be back!

Went over to Calais for a relaxing 3 days with our children and found this wonderful B&B.
Its located in a quiet village with next to no traffic and a small communal park for the children and somewhere to maybe have a picnic. The facilities in the B&B were amazing. The English hosts were very welcoming and could not have done more for us.
We opted for a combination of the continental and full English breakfast and both were not disappointing.
The beds were lovely and comfy and the beaches were a 20-25 minute trip away through lovely countryside most of the way.
Would recommend this B&B to anyone wanting a relaxing few days away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
We're looking forward to going back at some point in the future.
Keep up the good work Chris and Den.

This pretty little B&B is set in a lovely rural location, but close to Calais and Boulogne.
The Host (Dennis) is welcoming (and English!) so easy communications!
The rooms are clean and compact with a safe, everything about the place was smart and cared for.
Breakfast was a big highlight with fresh bread, toast pastries, yogurt, cereal eggs tea coffee etc......and all top quality stuff!
A lovely 'home from home' type stay for the price of a budget room.
Highly Recommended

Lovely room with good facilities and a great breakfast. The hosts were very nice. A pretty garden to sit in and eat breakfast if you wish. Will Definately stay again. Not to far from either calais or bolougne as there aren't any restaurants in the village itself. There is a restaurant in the neighbouring village if you don't want to venture to far. A very enjoyable peaceful stay. We have stayed at many b&b in France this is by far the best we have come across.

very quiet location , safe to leave car .
Small room with tiny shower, couldnt use sink to wash face as it was so small the bathroom floor got soaked.
All in all not a bad place for an overnight before getting tunnel back.
Owner was very nice and helpful.
Very nice breakfast served to our agreed time.

We stayed en route back to England and what a little gem of a find! 20 mins from the euro tunnel yet out In the quiet French countryside! Perfect! We felt very welcome, the rooms were lovely and the building very well done, the owner told us about the story of renovation, always nice to get a bit of history for a place! Great breakfast and I will be back!
