. There are five identical floating one bedroom pod on the marina close to the barge boats and onsite bar restaurant. There is a parking space next to your pod also for your barge. Car parking very close by also. Launderette on site. Right on the canal and across the road from the ice cream factory. Barrier let's you in and out so safe and secure . Lovely area ,clean tidy . Friendly staff. Limited menu in the restaurant but freshly made up and delicious food and very reasonable. Fish chips peas ten pound. Half hour from chester.
The pods. Just wow. High end furniture and fittings . USB charger points . 32 inch TV with netflix . Wifi ( not the best but acceptable) tea coffee biscuits provided and towels and shower gel. Shower is powerful.Comfy double bed with hanging space and room for luggage. Kitchenette is high end with all utensils crockery etc. Decking area outside for you to sit on ,although there are 2 chairs in the pod these are not deck chairs so bring your own. Plenty of wildlife and ducks swans that swim up to your deck. Can only think of one negative and that was maybe a fan should be supplied as the pod was extremely warm and it was only April when we stayed. Highly recomend. Tranquil and lovely scenery .

The only reason I am giving this a 4 star is because I think this stay would be better suited for couples or friends not families of young children.

We stayed here with our toddler and I wouldn't recommend staying if you have small children, particularly those who are under 2 or use cots. We brought our travel cot and it did not fit in the bedroom and therefore had to use it in the living area with no space to move around for us during the evening and no TV in the bedroom.

The pods are very nice, comfortable but lack space and are quite basic. No mirror in bedroom or bathroom. Hard to move around, little kitchen space for families, unsure how 4 people would stay in these.

The surrounding area is nice, good for walking. Boat house also nice.

We booked this staycation back in May 2023 to celebrate our wedding anniversary in September 2023. Absolutely loved this, spent 3 days in these amazing floating pod (Mandarin) and have to say everything was excellent. The pods are very comfortable and well equipped. The food in the restaurant was excellent and value for money. The full English breakfast was really good (very filling, all local produce used). All staff are so friendly and helpful. The staff again were brilliant, lovely location, great people and an absolute pleasure to experienced it. We will definitely be back.

The area is lovely, green and lots of walks in beautiful Cheshire. The Marina is okay and the view from the pod is relaxing but everything is a little more on top of itself than the images make you imagine. The Pod itself was clean, the bed comfortable and the shower nice. But it was very small and with the heat coming in from the glass front it made it very uncomfortable. In addition there was no outdoor furniture and no table inside so eating was an issue and because it was so hot you had to have the blinds down which meant that the view was not appreciated. Although I am sure in colder weather it would not be a problem. Air con would of been a blessing as the fan just circulated warm air. There was a mirror in the living room but the positioning of furniture made it inaccessible and the mirror in the bathroom just steamed up as the bathroom had no window and the fan didn't work. We had no extra bin liners and with the heat it had to be emptied fast due to flies etc, there was a dustpan but no brush so you could sweep the floor but not empty it away. It was disappointing as at 435 pounds for three nights I would expect more. We are regular long weekend away people many in pods but this pod was uncomfortable and at the price we would expect a lot more. No breakfast and no hot tub. Needs reconsidering in our opinion but its just our opinion.

Excellent staff good food . Pods are comfy and well laid out with everything you need. Make sure you bring plenty of bread as ducks swans and moorhens will want feeding. Good place for relaxing or walking/cycling. 20 mins from Cheshire oaks and around same from chester

We booked at last minute the day before and we were not disappointed. The pod was perfect for 2 and a 🐶. We stayed 2 nights but there is so much to do we could have stayed longer. The pod was clean and there were dog bowls and essentials (tea coffee milk). Staff were helpful friendly we ate at the bar first night the staff were helpful friendly and the food was good value. I tried the bison grass gin from the local distillery which was nice. We visited Cheshire oaks, Beeston castle which you can see from the Marina and went to Anderton boat lift on the way home. Good value for money and something different !

We felt that the accommodation smelt of dogs, cigarette smoke and other unwelcome smells. The pod felt cramped and dingy. Alike the other reviews we found that the large windows affected how we felt inside except as it is a bit chillier this time of year we were actually freezing the whole night.

We arrived to check in and female manager seemed very sales-y and generally unhelpful. I think this place would benefit from a few friendly faces. One moorer who lives onsite informed me she would be leaving as she did not like what the place had become in the past couple of years with its new management.

There are toilets by the cafe but they smelt grotesque, i think lots of their homemade cakes looked like they were from
bookers wholesale. This was quite a depressing visit unfortunately. I really enjoyed leaving

Cosy comfortable compact qwirky stay. Perfectly formed pod that had everything you would need. Loved the box of games to try out. Spotlessly clean throughout
This is definitely for 2 adults only.
The full time boaters were friendly and The Boathouse provided us with good beer and conversation. Food looked great (didn't eat here though) and tables all full at weekend.
Only thing to improve on would be gritting of pathway (-6 whilst here) and improved booking confirmation info but appreciate balancing act with security for the marina.
Maybe a little over priced given similar price to staying in Chester city centrebut I love the concept and will be back!

We stayed here for two nights with our 3 month old daughter and Labrador. The pods are in such a tranquil setting and had everything we needed for a cosy stay. We enjoyed the breakfast in the Bosthouse cafe and I’d recommend the Veggie Breakfast. 👌🏼 There’s lots to do in the area and it’s only 15 mins to drive to Chester. You can take a short walk across to the Ice Cream Farm. We also drove to Beeston Castle and walked to The Pheasant Inn pub. We then tried out the Chinese at The Letters Innocent pub, all which I’d recommend! A great base to explore the area and a cosy pod to come back to after a busy day.

Me and my girlfriend have just returned from 3 nights in the kingfisher pod with our dog. The pod was perfect, lovely comfortable double bed and sofa, nice little outside area and located in the beautiful Cheshire countryside. Whilst the pod wasn't big, it was a great size for the 3 of us. It had a little kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and lounge area and had everything you need for a short break. Some people probably have an issue with the size but we thought it was perfect, The little space they have is used really good without it feeling cramped. All in all a really great 3 night break and we'll definitely be going back in the summer. Also the staff I spoke too before and during our stay couldn't of been anymore friendly, polite and helpful. Thanks.
