Unbelievable! Check-in time was 3pm. We arrived around 6pm to find no one there and a note on the office door to say we should find the room with our name on it (no big deal as the place is rather remote). We found our room. The key was in the lock and the door was ajar. Inside we found...

Beartooth River Ranch is more of a hostel than a hotel. It's in the middle of nowhere. Over 30 minutes from Red Lodge. 45 minutes from Cody. Hard to find, especially in the dark. Minimal amenities. Ran out of toilet paper on the morning of departure. No proprietor on site. Smoke detector had been disabled. Horribly uncomfortable pullout bed. For...

This place is hands down the worst place I have ever stayed. Bugs smashed on walls, broken fire alarms, fire alarms that go off at 2:30 am, showers that are dirty, dead bugs caked to the lights. There is no one there when you arrive. There will probably be no one around the entire time you are there. They leave...

I was late booking a room for an event in Red Lodge and all the rooms were full so I stayed here. The room had a bed and nightstands and nothing else. The shower dripped all night and was really annoying. There was no table to set up my computer or chair to sit in. I thought I could just...

If there is nothing else available in the Red Lodge area, as there wasn't on our trip, stay here to sleep only. In the middle of nowhere in a dry and dusty field, it looks like a chicken coop on approach. It looks better from the other side. Rooms are tiny, walls paper thin, and bathrooms not as clean as...

We've held a retreat here for 3 years running. It's a fantastic venue for this sort of thing, and we were able to take over the kitchen to do our own thing regarding meals. Lots of refrigerator and freezer space plus great bbq grill. Makes our retreat one where everyone feels at home, relaxed and ready to dive into whatever...

I took the Chief Joseph Hwy from Cooke City, WY and got there pretty late. There was a card on my door. A group of friendly people sitting around the fire helped my find my way around. A cute dog greeting me with a rock. I gave her a tennis ball in exchange. We played catch for a while. I...

I enjoyed my two night stay very much and would stay here again. The surrounding mountains were breathtaking and the room was comfortable. Even had a great Wi-Fi connection. It was the perfect central location for me, as I spent one day in Red Lodge, one in Cody and one in Billings, each about an hour's drive. I did bring...

This place was very difficult to find. Even Google directions didn't help much. We ended up asking the sheriff in Belfry to help us. He wasn't even sure but made some calls for us. When we arrived we were saying to each other 'oh oh what is this place'. But once we saw the rooms we were pleasantly surprised. They...

I too had a hard time finding this place. You can actually see it from the main road but there wasn't any signage and I had to call and backtrack to get there. You do travel back gravel roads to get there, but it's a ranch...what do you expect? It's a long log building that sits by itself away from...

“There are a few rooms right off the common area, and the rest of them are along the front porch - I did not see a bad room in the bunch, just depends on if you want a more interior room or one with a door that open out to the fresh Montana air. All have AC and wonderful views.”

“All the rooms face west (towards the mountains) and are on same floor. Some rooms open up on the common room and some open up to a covered walkway outside. If there are few people there or walking is an issue, it would be best to be off the common room (inside).”
