Lone Mountain Ranch (LMR), situated on 148 acres in beautiful Big Sky, Montana, was first homesteaded in 1915 and has long been recognized as one of the premier guest ranch resorts in the country. The property consists of 30 rooms located within 24 unique cabins as well as a restaurant and saloon, pavilion, retail shop, equestrian facilities, and meeting spaces. Listed on the National Registry of the Historic Places, a member of the Dude Rancher's Association, an Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Lodge, a National Geographic Unique Lodge of the World, and once voted the #1 Nordic ski area in North America, LMR offers authentic accommodations, genuine Montana cuisine, exceptional service, and a stunning array of outdoor activities. Combine these attributes with close proximity to Yellowstone National Park, Big Sky Resort, as well as Bozeman Airport, and we believe the LMR guest experience is unlike any other in the American West.

My husband and I decided to book a last minute Christmas getaway to the Lone Mountain Ranch in 2018. We were drawn to the ranch due to it’s location and because it is a National Geographic Unique Lodge. We spent more money than we usually would, expecting a near perfect trip!

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Lone Mountain Ranch. It ended up being less 'rugged' and more luxurious/comfortable than we anticipated. We stayed in one of the renovated cabins and it was great, bed was comfortable, beautiful view from the front porch, all was good. A very

I have grandchildren the same age and I think 4 years old is just a year shy of being good. Not saying they wouldn't enjoy it but a little older would mean a little more self-sufficient and understanding of what is going on. Our experience was in the winter which I WOULD NOT recommend for anyone younger than 10-12 years and we don't have any experience (yet!) with their summer programs.

Does the lone mountain ranch allow dogs to stay overnight?
Yes we do, and dogs love it here but it is important for the dogs to be leash and kennel trained. We also like to discuss the breed and personality of the dog with the owner before we make lodging arrangements. We also like to talk with the owner about potential encounters with wildlife and horses that are common around the ranch. We also like to keep the total number of pets on property to a manageable number (less than 3) on any given night. Our reservations team would be happy to discuss it with you - 406 995 4644. Thank you!
