A super special place run by super special people. Check out their web site and be certain you understand what they are offering, and what they are not offering. We stayed in the Big Moser cabin. It's +/-80 yard walk to the old ice house they brought to the site and converted into the washroom/shower building. We had been camping...

I changed my holiday plan so I could fit in staying at this place and was very glad I did. The place has unique charm, accompanied by history and creativity to make a stay here very memorable. The host Don and Jimmy make you feel at home instantly and the breakfast is incredible. I will be back

Was doing some filming for a Lewis and Clark film and ran across this place. Pleasant surprise and plan on coming back for a getaway..take a kayak trip down the Wild and Scenic Missouri and marvel at the White Cliffs that Lewis and Clark saw over 200 years ago

It is difficult to fully express how much we loved attending our niece’s wedding weekend held at this pristine and beautiful accommodation on the banks of the Upper Missouri River in September of 2015. It was absolutely perfect in every way for such an event. The cabins were lovingly restored, rustic, and had a perfect “Little House on the Prairie”...

Historical 1912 buildings restored to be a beautiful exhibit of history as well as a destination for a romantic getaway or a destination wedding or other gathering. I addition to the rooms in the main mercantile building, there are several restored original homestead buildings available. There are antiques for sale as well as light snacks. The staff is very friendly...

Thanks Bill for taking the time to post your thoughts about Virgelle! We enjoyed showing you and your family our homesteader history, and telling you the stories from Virgelle's past. On the occasion that we do not have guests staying in the B&B, or a cabin available to view, we are ALWAYS happy to show our accommodations! We do have...

We have stayed here several times and enjoy the experience! A wonderful getaway! We have also attended several classes and enjoyed them very much! We have learned new 'old' skills as Dutch oven cooking, canning, soap making and cooking on a wood stove. The staff is always pleasant and very helpful! The sunrises are beautiful and sunsets too! The cabins...

Whenever we can get away from our busy lives, we head to Virgelle to stay in one of the cabins, experience the peace and quiet of the beautiful countryside, the wonderful ambiance provided by the owners, Don and Jimmy, and partake of the most delicious breakfast on the planet. We never tire of what Virgelle has to offer - the...

Thank you for taking the time to review our services and location. With only 8 miles of gravel road separating us from HWY 87, we're pleased that our little piece of "country living" is close enough and far enough to welcome visitors who appreciate the simplicity and peace that our location offers. Thank you for your kind words, and we...

I have visited many times and I just can't begin to describe how much I recommend that you come and give Virgelle a try. Its rustic country chic charm will keep you coming back. It also doesn't hurt that Virgelle is obviously under the leadership of excellent hosts Don, Jimmy & Cat. They tend to every detail and go the...

An amazing get-away. Impeccable hospitality with comfy prairie charm. Beautiful sunsets and rises. Take a kayak trip! Off the beaten track and you'll want to come back, again and again. Virgelle is truly a once in a lifetime experience; whether you choose to stay in a genuine homestead, the authentic prairie wagon or the warmth and hospitality of a room...

Thank you so much for your kind words. We appreciate all of our guests, especially those with a "sense of adventure". Though our B&B and Cabins, and Antiques store remain open, Virgelle Merc retired the Canoe Co. this year. Our website provides a BLM link to other outfitters in the area. Virgelle Merc is just one mile down the road...

Take a good look at this photo (of the cabin) and imagine paying $140 per night for double occupancy... I'm one of the those people who really enjoys simple living. I've stayed at the Virgille cabins for close to a month in the fall of 2013 and invited friends and family who did the same for shorter periods. That was...
