The opportunity for an overnight horseback trip deep in the Bob Marshall Wilderness kept me bidding for a stay at the Rich Guest Ranch in Montana when this was donated to the Vital Ground Foundation’s 25th Anniversary auction last year. The Rich Ranch has a reputation as the premier outfitter in Montana, but they do not by any means offer... More

We stayed at Rich Ranch for three nights, but wish we had planned for more. The extended Rich family, 5th generation Montanans, and their employees, really know how to make you feel like part of the family! From the delicious family-style meals, to the comfortable and well-appointed guest cabin, and especially the fabulous trail rides, we were impressed. The ranch... More

From arrival to departure, our Adventure Week visit and experience was first rate. We could not have felt more welcomed or more at "home on the range". Plenty of deer and signs of other native animals, though no buffalo roamed the surrounding meadows on our twice daily trail rides through the forests. The Rich Family fed us well and were... More

We have only been home 2 days and miss Rich Ranch. Especially all the warm, friendly and hilarious people that live and work there and the other visitors we met. On arriving Sunday we were strangers and on Saturday morning we were exchanging e-mail, facebook and telephone numbers. The Ranch is in a small part of the Bob Marshall Wilderness... More

In the end, it’s all about the people. If our experience is any guide, whatever you do here, you are going to be taken into the big warm embrace of the extended Rich family and through them, learn to love the beautiful, wild land even more than you thought you could.

We drove and towed our snowmobiles almost 700 miles one way to enjoy 3 days of snowmobiling only to leave after one horrible day. Our guide exceeded our riding abilities and capabilities after being told clearly the night before at dinner what our skill levels were which included that my wife had not ridden in 8 years. My wife was... More

My fiancé and I stayed here for two days and one night in September 2015 and it was by far the highlight of our trip to Montana. Peggy was able to accommodate us for lunch only an hour prior to lunchtime, and was so warm and welcoming into their family home. We went on a two hour trail ride with... More

Rich Ranch provides the most spectacular access to Montana's incomparable Bob Marshall Wilderness Area. We packed on horseback (followed by a fully provisioned mule train) up the North Fork of the Blackfoot River. Jack Rich runs a first class operation. We were accompanied by three additional gems: Jack's delightful sister Peggy, all-star wrangler Val and the absolutely lovely Jessica. I... More

My husband and I travel extensively, and have been fortunate to have seen a lot of the world. However, our one week stay at the Rich Ranch was one of the best vacations of our lives.
