Arrived to Kandahar Lodge after our first day of skiing on the mountain. The man working the desk was very friendly and informative, telling me about all the details of staying at the lodge. The lodge was an older and historic place, we really enjoyed the rustic charm. The room was very spacious and clean, it came complete with all...

We planned a last minute Montana getaway after our plans to go to Jackson Hole were thwarted by weather, and Kandahar Lodge was our home base. We loved it... the location was beautiful... everyone was friendly, staff and other travelers alike... VERY comfortable beds... cozy lobby (always a fire burning, comfortable couches, interesting books)... despite what we had read in...

A small group of us stayed here for a ski weekend after a long, delayed Amtrak trip. These people are really nice! First of all, they let us check into some of our rooms much before check-in time because we were dead, free transportation to the lifts was easy, ski storage and all contingencies easily handled. All employees super nice...

Thanks for your complimentary and comprehensive review, Douglas. Just an FYI, we have sliced meat (usually turkey) and cheese in containers on ice next to the bagel, muffin container. Also, the breakfast includes bananas and apples - perhaps we were out of those when you were here. We can shop daily at the grocery store for those items so can...

Overall, this was a nice stay. Obviously, the location can't be beat: just a short walk to the main mountain village and the lifts. The bed was super-comfy, and the wood burning fireplace in the lobby added much charm and smelled amazing. I'd rate this a B+ to an A-. The reason is, I've stayed in nicer places on the...

Had loft with kitchenette. Hotel is old , has no elevators, the front desk staff employees were not friendly. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Does have a good restaurant . Beds were upstairs and bathrooms downstairs. No food options for lunch. Shuttle bus stops at 4:15 for some unknown reason .

Thank you for letting us know about your visit. I am sorry to hear that you experienced unfriendliness from the staff. This feedback is shared with them. Kandahar Lodge was built in 1981 (one wing) and 1983 (2nd wing). In 2000, the rooms were renovated; bathrooms were tiled, microwaves and small refrigerators were added and carpet and paint updated. The Kandahar is my family's "go to" for lodging on Whitefish Mountain. My sister from Wisconsin and her family and mine (from Missoula) have been meeting there for the Christmas to New Years week for many years. It never disappoints. The ski-in/ski out (or van service) is super convenient. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The food is second...

Short walk to ski out, easy ski in access. Beautiful rustic charm lobby and bar and excellent front desk service. Was a lovely Christmas/New Years destination. Rooms were spacious and staff was very accommodating of our needs as a large family.

Wonderful experience! Lodge is beautiful and ambiance was warm and inviting. Rooms were quiet, comfortable, clean and nicely updated. The lobby is adorned with charm and resembles a stately old- world style manor. Loved the stone fireplace which always had a crackling fire -very cozy after a day on the slopes! Gigantic Christmas tree and decorations were a hit that...

We enjoyed our days in your lodge. It is comfortable and well located. The rooms we had were quiet and pleasant. I liked having a regular key, it is a detail without importance but it felt homey. The breakfast was nice for those who can eat dairy, gluten and sugar. Thankfully we had a refrigerator in order to have our...

Thank you, Isabelle, for taking the time to write a review. we are happy that you enjoyed your stay. The items on our continental breakfast that you could have eaten were the hard-boiled eggs, the sliced meat and a couple of gluten free cereals (however we don't stock non-dairy milk). All our rooms have small refrigerators. That helps to keep...

We had a great stay here...so much that we extended it by a day. We loved the big fireplace in the lobby with the bar located right next to it. The rooms were comfortable. The front staff seemed a bit flustered at times but otherwise they were helpful.
