We've stayed twice here - once in the campsite in Summer and again in the Exmoor Hut for the deer rut safari. Both were brilliant experiences. The whole project is fascinating, and the facilities intriguing and well thought-out. Compost loos as well as conventional ones, wonderfully hot showers - outdoor baths too if you're up for it. The shepherd's hut...

I booked this as a surprise weekend away for me and my partner, and we had a great time. We occupied the Turtle Dove Yurt. The whole project is very interesting and the recycled kitchen most ingenious! Watch out for the friendly robin at breakfast time. The yurt was well furnished and comfortable. There are good conventional toilets and showers...

We’re delighted you enjoyed your stay with us though sorry you found our usual standards of cleanliness were not up to scratch. We will keep an even more vigilant eye on this next season. I do hope we see you again at Knepp Wildland Safaris.

We stayed here for 2 nights in the meadow campsite with our own tent, but still benefitted from some of the luxurious touches that the glampers receive. The campsite was uncrowded so you get your own space - and firepits are provided. The open air shower with eco-friendly products provided was a fantastic way to start the day, although if...

We stayed here as a birthday treat to include a deer rut safari. We stayed in Exmoor shepherds hut, deep in the wooded area, surrounded by forest beasties. Compact and bijou is the best description for these huts. A fire pit and table and chairs outside allows a bit of al fresco dining, a wood burning stove heats the hut...

Please accept our sincerest apologies. We normally have extremely high standards when it comes to the cleanliness of all of our accommodation and this was an unforgivable hiccup. Thank you for pointing out the tree stump outside the hut, which will be grubbed out over the winter while the campsite is closed. We do hope you will visit us again...

Knepp is a wonderful place, close to London with so much to do, various safaris, butterflies, deer etc. The campsite has amazing facilities, open baths, delicious Knepp reared meat, venison, beef, pork, available in the communal sitting area, and the great variety of tents to stay in has to be seen to be believed, wood burning stoves, and great comfort. To...

Knepp is the closest thing to nature you could experience. I stayed in the Longhorn Shepherds Hut, which is beautifully and comfortably set up. They have put a great deal of creative thought into the campsite with an amazing glamping kitchen, shop and shower facilities. I really enjoyed the Sunday Safari with Penny learning about the history of Knepp and...

+ lovely staff. Very relaxed and I felt totally at home. A good welcome with information and then felt free to use the facilities at my leisure. + great facilities, kitchen, bathrooms (outdoor baths were lovely!). + comfy warm bed - unfortunately quite close to the busy A road so despite peaceful field some noise pollution. Otherwise great

I booked a surprise birthday trip for myself and my husband to stay in the bell top tent. We stayed for two nights and absolutely loved every minute of it! The tent was spacious and the bed was comfy. It was so tranquil and buzzing with wildlife. The out door kitchen was amazing! Being able to enjoy the outdoors with...

A friend and I camped for a couple of days, and it was a privilege to witness the process of restoration. Was impressed with the set up; they're doing big things at Knepp. Look forward to returning soon.

Knepp Wildland Safaris is a beautiful set up, where everything has been carefully thought through and constructed. The facilities are rustic and simple. The grounds are beautiful and there's lots to do. A truly wonderful weekend and definitely somewhere we will visit again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Knepp - one of the largest re-wilding projects in lowland Europe. Encounter herds of wild ponies, cattle, deer and pigs as they roam 3,500 acres of Sussex, driving the forces of habitat regeneration. Join us on one of our vehicle-based safaris or guided walking tours and experience our profusion of birds, mammals, butterflies, beetles, reptiles, plants and fungi in a setting that feels as wild and dynamic as the African bush. Stay in one of our beautiful shepherd's huts or luxurious tents, or simply pitch your own in our exclusive Wildland campsite. You don't have to take one of our safaris to stay here, and you don't have to stay here to take a safari - though naturally we hope you'll be tempted to combine the two. ... more   less
