It had been two years since our last stay here, after a change of ownership. Delighted to say the spirit of this unique pub has been maintained but with updated rooms - very smart, it looks as if Gordon Ramsay has been through. The Adnams beers are superb - wide choice. Dinner was excellent. The Pannacotta (sp??) - was possibly...

Went for supper and several nights went for drinks in the garden Peaceful and beautiful with great food. Not having a bar and a pump room instead made it feel really different. The village is also stunning and quiet.

Friendly check-in and, amazingly, a hand written letter of welcome - top marks! Our room had double aspect, one onto courtyard and other through glazed doors to stream (river when more water) below. Extra long bed with good duvet and lovely bed linen. TV great size. Slept well as both rooms they let are in separate building to main pub....

We stayed two nights. Great breakfast. Great food. Sophie was a great host. The. epitome of rural charm; wonderful quirky pub. Room was very comfortable. Laxfield is a lovely village in the heart of rural Suffolk.

Arrived at 2pm and pleased to find they were happy to serve us lunch at that time. There are several rooms and the bar is unusual- you have to see it! Menu looked really good with a good selection of starters and mains. We had beetroot risotto with goats cheese and golden beets, kippers and a burger - all really...

I travelled here with a mate on a mission, to check out Laxfield for an American friend who lived here as a boy. Obviously needed food and drink so decided the Low House(Kings Head) looked a good bet. What a gem!!! The Adnam's Ale was kept perfectly. The environment is quaint and quirky. Not many tap rooms left in British...

We did not eat here, but came for a drink. Such an unusual pub with lots of atmosphere. No music playing, just small groups of people talking or playing cards. No bar, just a "pump room" full of barrels of different beers. There are a few small rooms or areas with seating. They have a great beer garden which is...

There are reputedly only two pubs in the country that don't actually have a bar and you order drinks in the pump room. The other is in Dorset I'm told. So...it's worth going in and having a drink just to experience the place. We had an evening meal that was really excellent as well. All the dishes were very very...

Had a great meal - discrete service from staff was very prompt and friendly without being fussy and too over the top. Good choice of ales and a good range on the wine list. Very well presented and home cooked food - a touch of genius with the presentation and ingredients. A real country pub with lots of tradtional artefacts...

Stepping into The King’s Head is like a journey back through time. We are a very traditional English pub, serving great beer straight from our tap room, quality food from local producers and peaceful accommodation away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Set in the heart of the beautiful village of Laxfield, it's an ideal location for exploring the surrounding Suffolk countryside, and it’s many attractions.
