We've been staying with Annie and Bob for years now for occasional escapes to the coast. It's a superb spot with superb hosts and it is like catching up with old friends. I love Southwold (Bob is a Southwold boy and font of history) but we nearly always choose to stay here. There is no better breakfast than Annie's and...

We had a wonderful one night stay at Hall Farm. Unfortunately that was not long enough! Annie and Bob were exceptionally welcoming; tea and cake was much appreciated on our arrival as was the roaring fire in our living room. So many thoughtful personal touches really added to our stay and we felt completely at home. The farmhouse breakfast cooked...

We stayed here for three nights with our two children (11 & 14) and were spoilt rotten. Annie and Bob were very welcoming and really looked after us. Bedrooms were very comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. Set in a beautiful part of the world with a very nice pub nearby, you can't go wrong. Dogs, sheep, chickens and cows...

My partner and I, and my daughter and son-in-law, stayed for 2 nights at Hall Farm. Everything about it was just what we love, and Annie and Bob made us feel as though they were really pleased to have us there. Breakfasts were delicious, the bedrooms were so comfortable and furnished with soul, and it was marvellous for us animal-lovers...

2 nd week of September 2016 was the hottest temperature at Hall Farm for 50 years. It should also have been reported on the national news that Jane and Philip have spent almost as long trying out Farmhouse B&B in England,Wales and Scotland and on the 13th and 14th of September 2016 found the perfect place at Hall Farm with...

My wife and I stayed for two nights in August. We had a great time. Annie and Bob are excellent hosts, the house and our room (yellow) were beautiful, the breakfasts were delicious, the location is spot on. We only have good things to say and will definitely be back to stay again. Thank you. Paul and Deboarah.

If, like us, you look for something a little bit different, maybe off the beaten track then you will not be disappointed in Hall Farm bed and breakfast. Annie and Bob are the loveliest of hosts, welcoming without being intrusive. The house is an idyll we just didn't want to leave. What can I say. Furnished tastefully and beautifully. Feather...

We stayed here for the weekend of our anniversary and we couldn't have wished for a better way to spend it. Absolutely everything was good about our stay- The ancient house (built 1580!) in beautiful grounds with high spec amenities (powerful shower, posh products, incredibly comfy mattress and bedding); Bob and Annie, the calmest, warmest, helpful, well-informed and genuinely friendly...

As we left Hall Farm, our first resolution was that we must come back again. It has the perfect combination for a B&B: historic house, lovely garden, excellent facilities, and most importantly, the perfect hosts. Annie and Bob give a warm welcome, and are supremely helpful, with tips on where to eat and what to do. Annie's breakfasts are superb,...

Best B&B we have been to. Annie and Bob are so welcoming with tea and cake provided just when you need it. Great home made breakfasts including the bread. Great shower with the blue room and lovely big towels. Steep stairs to both rooms but we will be back I am sure.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hall Farm is situated in the beautiful valley of the River Blyth, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, very close to Southwold, Walberswick and Suffolk's Heritage Coast. The secluded Grade II-listed farmhouse dates back to late sixteenth century and is surrounded by sheep and cattle-grazing meadows rich in wildlife. Charming, comfortable rooms and Aga-cooked breakfasts make Hall Farm an ideal place to stay while you explore the local area. Perfectly placed Southwold, Walberswick, Dunwich and RSPB Minsmere are no further than a ten-minute drive away and Aldeburgh, Snape, and Orford are within easy reach. We are also a perfect place to stay if you enjoy walking and cycling. In fact you can stay without getting in your car again. Footpaths from the farm take you across meadows, heaths and by the banks of the River Blyth all the way to the coast, or inland to the market town of Halesworth. A secure lock up is provided if you want to bring bikes. If you travel by train, we can pick you up from our local railway stations at either Halesworth or Darsham, which are both ten minutes away. Trains from London take two hours and operate hourly. We have two double bedrooms, one with an ensuite bathroom and one with a private shower room. We also have a family room, connected to one of the bedrooms. Each room is furnished with quirky nods to local history. Our hearty breakfasts are cooked on the Aga and either served in the kitchen or sitting room overlooking our garden. After a day of exploring, relax and unwind on the terrace in our garden or cosy guest sitting room, with a pot of tea or coffee and homemade cake. An open log fire will greet you and quickly warm you up on colder days. Then you can plan your next day's activities, with the help of an abundance of local books and maps and our wealth of local knowledge. We pride ourselves on using local, fresh produce, from our farm when possible. At breakfast, as well as helping yourselves to fruits and muesli, you can select the cooked breakfast of your choice which includes everything from a full-cooked English to locally smoked haddock with poached egg. Eggs come from our free-range chickens and all meat is sourced from local butchers. Jams and marmalades are all home made using produce from our kitchen gardens and hedgerows. Bread is either home-made or from a local artisan bakery. And in the evening, just a five-minute walk away, is the Star Inn, our local pub, where you can enjoy Adnams beer and other local craft beers. The Star also serves 'simple home cooking using local ingredients'. In the adjacent village of Blyford is the Queen's Head and there are plenty of other pubs and restaurants to choose from in the area. ... more   less
