Room is average but clean. Close to elevators. Mel's diner a bit greasy. Frozen veggies it seemed. Very watery. Do not go to the buffet, there were very few appealing items on it.Taco place is good. The café is also decent. Very smokey casino. Mostly older folks who live in town.

Had a great time with myself, and that's hard for me to.i will come back because it's affordable and fun, and the food is good too:-$😋. I was thinking about going somewhere else but I decided to stay because the price was so much cheaper then other places like the Sands hotel.

Standard hotel for a decent rate during a busier time. We needed a comfortable place to stay while meeting family and that was met. We only stayed for one night but enjoyed the area and nearby food. Overall pleasant experience.

Stayed at the hotel will definitely stay again. Gaming was fun and drink server was amazing! Stay away from the buffet though it is not that good but hey if its included in your stay then it's ok for the value. But the desert was stale

They charge a housekeeping gratuity fee $3.00 a day, Resort Fee $15.00 a day, and a tourism fee $3.00 a day in unexpected expenses plus taxes.. SURPRISE!! We had an ok time but should have stayed at a nicer Casino Hotel with safer parking.

Thank you for the rating and feedback bustrorl. We are sorry that you were not informed when you booked your room about the Resort Fee. The Sands resort fee is one of the lowest in all of Reno. We do charge $1 Housekeeping Fee and a $15 Resort Fee. In addition, there is a city wide tourism fee of $3. Our resort fee covers many amenities that the Sands provides, including: • Choice of secure, covered parking or Valet service • Wi-Fi, available to our guests property-wide • Hourly airport shuttle service • Bell Captain & concierge services • Fitness Center & outdoor pool • Local & Toll-free calls We look forward to welcoming you back to the Sands soon.

Pretty sure bathroom vent hasn't been cleaned since the Sands was built!
Water stain and sag in ceiling.
Roulette is usually open until the graveyard shift. That's usually between midnight and 2 am. If we have customers playing we would keep it open as long as they wanted to keep playing.

I believe you have to provide a card to hold the reservation. Then you can pay in cash when you check in. But all hotels require a deposit and if you have cash you can pay the deposit in cash.

I'm so sorry I can't help you with your question. I drove my own vehicle. I had no use for any shuttles.

It is very unusual the Hotel charged you 30% in advance. I suggest you call the hotel directly asking why. In my case, I did not book directly with the Hotel, I booked through my bank's website travel service. I paid full amount in advance when I book the room, if I needed to cancel, I can get full refund if I cancel 72 hours prior to arrival date. The day I checked in, Sands asked me for a credit card, told me they would need to hold $75, but the $75 never actually charged through my credit card. I have a habit whenever I book a hotel room, I ask their cancellation policy.

I'd be surprised if they had a shuttle at this time of night. My question to you is, why would you want to stay at the Sands? I understand it's cheap, but it's such a horrible place to stay. If your planning a trip in July, you might have enough time to change hotels. One that would probably have shuttles running when you need them. Good Luck and have a good time.
