This is an Iconic place that should be visited, if you are looking to see what the White Mountains offered many years ago to the wealthy summer folks from the big city. It is over a century old, one of the last wooden "Grand Hotels" left of the many that once were fixtures in

This is our third year in a row staying at the hotel with another couple shortly before Christmas. We love the beautiful Victorian design and it is further enhanced with the Christmas decorations. It is impossible not to feel that it is a special treat when we stay there. The

Where do we begin... ? First I do not want the General Manager/Management to respond with their auto-reply, please, don't bother, just take a walk around your hotel as any good General Manager of a hotel with this assumed calibre should, every day, twice a day! We looked

This was our second visit to The Mt Washington Hotel. We had a beautiful room over looking Mt Washington. This was a Family Reunion and a lot of our family were hiking up Mt Washington on a 2 day hike. The rest of us had a great time around the hotel using the pools and just

The indoor pool and hot tub was “closed for maintenance” on the weekend. The outdoor pool was freezing, had no towels, had unheated and dirty locker rooms, and was too far to walk from hotel in the winter. We booked this hotel for a family vacation because of these amenities.

Thank you for your question. There are a myriad of trails right out the door at the resort. Our concierge would be happy to offer trial maps and suggestions. We also offer guided hikes, climbing one of the highest peaks in the Northeast. We will work with you to choose a hike suited to you. Possibilities include Mt. Washington, Mt. Lafayette, Mt. Jefferson, and Mt. Eisenhower, but the options are endless. It will be just you and your guide on this adventure, allowing us to customize everything to you, including start time, pace, and choice of destination. We look forward to your visit and hope you'll let us know if there is anything we can do to assist in planning your stay.

Thank you for your question and your interest in joining us in April. The weather in northern New Hampshire is hard to predict, but it is likely that Bretton Woods will be closed for skiing by the end of April. We do offer numerous activities in and around the resort, but we strongly suggest you give our concierge desk a call at 603-278-1000. They will be able to give you more specifics on options during your stay, depending on the exact dates of your visit. They should also be able to tell you if there will be any seasonal closures to be aware of. We are looking forward to having you as our guests and making your stay a memorable one.

I think your best bet would be to rent a car. There are no buses or train lines near the hotel. Also a car would be helpful to drive to some of the activities connected with the hotel or just nearby.

Thank you for your question. We are looking forward to your visit in December. The resort offers many activities and amenities right on property, with much to see and do right here at the resort. With complimentary shuttle service for overnight guests, available 24 hours, seven days a week, it is easy to access any point on the resort without a car. If you decide you'd like to explore the area during your stay and will rent a car, we offer complimentary self and valet parking for overnight guests. With a stay of four nights, it might be nice to be able to explore the area by car as well as enjoying on-property activities. Shop for holiday gifts at the outlets in North Conway, mail holiday cards from nearby by Bethlehem, NH, or take in the classic Main Street shops in Littleton. Our concierge would be happy to assist in planning your stay and will be in touch. Thank you again for your question.
