We had 2 rooms in the Lakeside Building on the Beach/Lake level. Convenient to access for the Beach, Lake and Bar/Grille. Rooms were clean and roomy. Staff was friendly and always helpful. The young Lady who serviced our room was here for the summer from Jamaica and was more than helpful. We will return next year.

We love it here! We always stay after the official tourist season is done and that means the property is quiet, serene, and receptive to two weary travelers who just want to sit on the beach and enjoy their solitude. The Margate Resort is the best. We always have a great time when we stay with them, and the staff...

Hubby and I went for a wedding and stayed Thurs and Fri nights. We stayed in the building across the street in a renovated room. We had 2 double beds, it was definitely roomy and pleasant to stay in. The windows slid open which was nice so we could get fresh air. The shower was clean and everything worked fine....

Spent s night here while attending a show at the NH Pavilion and despite their somewhat strange "pay in advance" policy our room was nice (at the inn) and staff was accommodating. Good continental breakfast and quiet setting even during a fairly busy early fall weekend. Room was spotless and recently renovated. A good place to stay near Laconia/Gilford and...

The room was clean but the furniture was very dated. The bathroom fixtures were 60's vintage and the showers poured more water out in 5 min. than I use at home in a day. There were no "green" fixtures. The hallway carpeting was old and stained and the external woodwork on the buildings was cracked and had chipped paint. There...

Really thought this place was going to be nice. The location is great, beach bar is great and most of the staff were great. Now the room, it was old looking, shower curtain was covered in mold, ceiling had a large Crack in it and it looked like my daughter tried to fix it and there was sand on the...

I have stayed at the Margate several times! I have always been satisfied until this last experience! My daughter and her friend rented a couple of paddle boards...the friends son lost the paddle....The young man manning the rental told her that I would be charged for the lost paddle....the friend then wanted to talk to the manager who assured her...

Booked 2 weeks in advance. Arrived to be sent across a busy road to a building marked "INN" not Margate Inn - tricky. Looked like a old motel Margate bought for overflow rooms. Eight bags, 2 seniors & no elevator or porter. We were never advised of this situation but were told by the rooms manager to look at their...

We were there a couple weekends ago for a destination wedding. We stayed across the street in the building not on the lake waterfront. Rooms were dirty around the edges , maid service didn't come the first day and on the second day I had to go down the hall and ask her to come up and clean our room....

This was our fifth year of staying at The Margate and my husband and I both felt it had gotten run down. The staff is very nice and you can't beat the location but the rooms are damp and have a smell of mildew. When I called the front desk they said that is just how the lake view rooms...
