Henry L. Thayer was a successful Littleton, New Hampshire merchant with a dream to build a hotel more modern in equipment and character that others of its kind. The dream started taking shape in 1843 when he purchased the lot just east of his store January 14, 1850 as opening day for "THAYER'S WHITE MOUNTAIN HOTEL." Success was soon established due in part to the coming of the railroads to Littleton in 1852. After all 164 year pass the Thayers inn still offer great rooms, food and service to all visitors.

My husband and I stayed one night with our toddler and had a delightful experience. The staff was friendly, the hotel was full of character, and our room was everything we needed. This is not the place for bells and whistles but it is quite charming. The room was clean and warm

Really good stay as long as expectations are set, this is not a 5 star hotel. However, it’s really nice to be able to stay in town and walk to a nice dinner. And you can get a two room suite for the family for less than your avg hotel room. It’s also very clean and the beds

We were visiting Littleton, NH and site seeing in this historic town. Thayers inn has much history from the 1850s. They have a small little museum in one hallway with pictures and other memorabilia from the past. So we came to check it all out. It was a very cold January day.

We are sorry if you feel our policy is not welcoming or that we used poor judgment in this instance. We truly didn’t mean to offend. We lock our bathroom for safety and hygiene reasons based on feedback that we got from customers who patronize our hotel. We have previously had couch buses stop for their customers to use our bathroom, rather than them using the bathroom on the bus (they did not / do not do any business with us). We had construction workers working down the street use our bathroom, rather than use the porta-potty provided for them (they were not doing work for us). We’ve had other non-customers come off the street to use our bathroom, only to leave a mess. After carefully considering the factors, we believe that it is best to reserve the use of our facilities for our customers and to ensure a clean and safe environment. We appreciate your understanding.

Situated in the heart of Littleton, you can easily walk everywhere downtown area. This hotel built in 1843 is a landmark. Its outward appearance is striking. Inside, the floors, stairs and walls are all off kilter. Not the end of the world. The rooms are average size. The

Stayed 11/30-12/2. We loved the quaint charm that only a historic hotel can provide. The hotel is located in the center of Littleton and therefore cannot be beat on location. The great shops are just steps away! The bathroom was slightly small, but it's a historic hotel and this
