We stayed in the "Spring" suite with its king-size bed, and large bathroom. An earlier reviewer said the room did not have a key ... we certainly did, and were able to lock the room. The owner was very gracious. He was not home when we arrived, but left a phone number, and by phone, got us into the house,... More

The reviews I read were all wonderful. Art was a gracious host and directed us to several outstanding restaurants in the charming Maplewood downtown area. The bed and breakfast itself was rather disappointing. We had The Spring Room. It was a lovely room and was decorated nicely. The drawback to the room was that it did not have a key.... More

The last guest in the Spring room forgot to return the key. I'm sorry I should have purchased a new lock, only we were leaving early the next morning for Florida and there would be no other guests staying at the Inn. Normally we provide our guests a full breakfast, and always make a Continental Service available. Breakfast and all... More

Wonderful spot, if you happen to be passing through Maplewood/South Orange NJ. It is an 1840 house that the owner has lived in since the 1940's, when it was his family's home. The owner is on site and very attentive to his guests' needs.

My husband and I stayed in the Spring room and had a wonderful experience at this B&B. Art, the owner, is gracious and made us feel right at home. The house itself is a work of art AND history. Art made us a yummy breakfast in the kitchen. Even though this B&B is right off a busy road it is... More

We stayed here recently and enjoyed it immensely. The house itself is a great big Victorian masterpiece with massive ornate antiques. Our room was big, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was very spacious. I would suggest upgrading the bathroom amenities. The inn provides a bar of harsh Irish Spring soap and even harsher VO-5 shampoo and conditioner. Another recommendation... More

Art and Libby are wonderful. They went out if their way to make me feel welcome. The bed was so comfortable. I was in the Winter Room which has it's own shower/tub, small sink and toilet. I didn't have to leave for the airport til 7 the next night and they let me keep my luggage there while I walked... More

Very quaint little bed and breakfast in a scenic part of New Jersey with a lot of green foliage. This bed and breakfast has nice clean rooms. The owner is a very nice older gentleman named Art who makes you breakfast in the morning. The location is close to the Maplewood stop of the New Jersey Transit, which very easily... More

I recently stayed for 3 nights in this beautiful early Vicorian hotel as part of a group who were attending the funeral of a well known and well loved local restaurant owner. It was like walking into a small English stately home with antiques and artwork and even a grand piano. The bedrooms were immaculate and tastefully decorated reflecting the... More

Art, the owner kindly stayed up late at night for my arrival and helped take my luggage up to my room. Art is the perfect host. He is very wise, caring, kind and helpful. We stayed in this lovely home five days in the summer room -- and what a room! A large green tiled bathroom, sweeping grand staircase, choose a porch for breakfast, great big bedroom and bed. If you are resourceful, you will have a good time. Nobody hovers over you. The grounds are fun to wander. We had only one breakfast... More

“I'd recommend asking for one of the rooms with a bathroom in the room. I think we had the only room without an attached bathroom. It was still private, but down the hall a bit.”

“Ask Art about the mattress (hard, soft, in between). Also if you are picky about your shower, ask about that too. Because the house is an old victorian style, it is not always easy to configure things like a shower in a space not designed for that. The rooms and suites are beautiful.”
