Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel is in old house. The restaurant is formal and the pub was cozy and warm. The meals were lovely. The rooms were comfortable with the best pillows we found in the UK so far. Conveniently located to go to Glengoyne distillery, and Stirling castle.

Kincaid House never disappoints. Family friendly. Food is first class and Scottish hospitality the best. Chicken Stornoway don’t miss it! Wine list has great selections. The service staff are top class. Go to the Stable bar with cozy wood burning fireplace. Family owned and all are truly welcomed. Don’t miss one of the best places to stay and eat only a few miles outside of Glasgow. You won’t be disappointed. First class!

Had a meal here for the first time since the new chef started and launched a new menu. The food was amazing!! Had three small plates - beetroot carpaccio with feta, ham hock croquettes with piccalilli - and the absolute stand out venison and haggis scotch egg, with a delicious pickled carrot salad. Everything was beautifully presented and incredibly well cooked, very fresh and very tasty indeed. We spent time with French and American visitors who said it was the best food they had enjoyed on their trip so far. Service also excellent, as always.

Ordered two bowls mussels with cream … they arrive after waiting quite some time cold expected some steam but no… most of them were still closed and broken shells in bowl … you cant serve this to anyone 😤 three slices of bread at side of plate no butter to mop up which i can only say was equivalent to two table spoons worth …not warm … waiter asked hows things when taking the bowls away we told him it was cold and shells were broken he said aww sorry WTF… we asked what you got with steakpie waiter said mash potatoes … it had said it on the menu … we got hard boiled roasted WTF… when steak pie came the food had be nuked to an inch of its life in the microwave 4 pieces of small square steak later ….. could not leave quick enough went to chinese take away on the way home… Strongly advice you not to waste your money … and a piece if advice for your chef… give up your day job 😫

It was through the reviews that I chose to go to Kincaid house hotel and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. On arrival met by the very friendly Claire and made to feel very welcome . Claire made the kids smile and put us in the turret room , she explained everything thoroughly and said if we wanted anything at all not to hesitate to ask.The room was fantastic very good value for money as was room service.Next morning again nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was excellent, best haggis I have ever had..we will definitely stay again and would highly recommend to any family. Kincaid house definitely 5 stars. Paul, Olivia and keegan

Lovely hotel with a real Scottish feel! Thank you to the lovely Claire who checked us in and showed us to her room. She was very sweet with our children and was equally excited about the turret in the corner of the room where the kids could make a fort! If it wasn’t for Claire, I would have given the hotel 4 stars - if you’re reading this management, she’s your best asset!

Stayed for 1 night on our trip in scotland. Check in was ok. Room lovely and clean. Good en suite. The bar is around the back of the house in stables which had nice character. We had hoped for night service to get a night cap after we had been out but this wasnt available. Breakfast was ok. However it only did smoked bacon which doesnt suit everyone and didnt offer normal pork sausage as other hotels did on our trip around. It is a nice hotel but wouldnt stay again ....

Stopped for lunch here as it is handy for the Sir Thomas Muir Cycle path. Simple but excellent. One fish, chips and peas, one chicken goujons, chips and salad. Both home made and cooked to perfection. Cheap too. But the best thing is the garden. On a nice day it is Idyllic. On a less nice day the conservatory is spectacular

Lovely hotel, friendly and helpful, very accommodating of our E-bikes. Nice places to walk nearby, we stopped here while riding the John Muir way. Really enjoyed our stay and the best pakoras I’ve ever eaten. Highly recommended
